I stand corrected. I looked at the description and even on the wiki site it says they are considered a half-dragon at level 10 RDD. Game mechanics-wise, I'm pretty sure nothing happens though - your race isn't changed and nothing gets added to your subrace (at least from what is standard for RDD in NWN). So long as the base race doesn't change or the subrace doesn't change for the PC to indicate a change in the race, you're OK. Maybe test it out in a character builder module sometime to see if anything actually changes with either when you reach level 10 RDD just to be sure though. Rubbish, every elf I've made on here has had hopes and aspirations. As mentioned repeatedly, the Legions are far from the only Path to Power in Thay. Some organisations remain influential even if the Red Wizards do not want them to be (Harpers, Veiled Alliance etc). Also if you seek hope as a player of non-humans (because ICly why would the Reds care about giving our lesser chars hope), take into account Thayan's post. If you have an exceptional soldier, you're char may just be lucky enough (with DM assistance and a good, solid RP) to be one of the privileged few that get that rare Red Wizard V.I.P promotion. Red Wizards call the shots in the end and if they want to elevate a non-human for being exceptionally valuable to them (and lets face it, you have to be or you aren't worth the influence spent on you), they can. Question is, is your character able to get that level of recognition and value placed on them? And in your strive for Captain or higher, maybe the Reds will think of a different use for you (hopefully not a spell component). RP and find out! I would argue we non-humans players could benefit more in pursuing the near-unattainable goal because by default, we need RP (presumably a lot) to get there whereas human chars can get there with just casual RP with others thats unrelated or by repeatedly doing quests. I know what sounds more fun to me atleast. According to the above guide Silvanus does. However according to this he and Chauntea do not. Does this need updating? http://thaypw.org/showthread.php?tid=57 RE: Background Information Regarding Legion Advancement Change - Balanor - 01-16-2014 If a druid, cleric, or paladin character can select a god they can join their temple and so I do not list out what are default divine classes that can join a temple. So if your PC of one of those classe can select the god, it can join a temple devoted to the god and ascend into that temple's clergy. In that player joinable faction thread for the list of temples, I only call out classes or special requirements that faction has other than the default 'divine three' (cleric, druid, paladin). However most gods don't allows paladin or druids in addition to clerics which is why in the quote from me above and in that thread you are encouraged to find out beforehand if they do. As you can probably see it's mostly for which temples allow Blackguards into the clergy (Lawful Evil deities, mostly). But there are other special situations like orc-bloods only being able to join the Orcish temple, or any class being able to ascend to the clergy in the cults of Entropy and Juiblex, and so on. RE: Background Information Regarding Legion Advancement Change - WingsOfStardust - 01-16-2014 Thayan, I looked it up. You don't get your race switched to half-dragon. RE: Background Information Regarding Legion Advancement Change - Balanor - 01-23-2014 This is a reminder that after January 28, that notoriety loss for leaving a legion will be reinstated. So if you have a non-human PC legionnaire who has decided to leave the legion they are in, be sure to contact one of the DMs or Pleiade to get this arranged and taken care of before then otherwise they'll take a hit to notoriety. |
