Crashing Issues - Switchblade Symphony - 08-25-2011
I'm having freeze/crashing problems and was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. I use Vista, and am already running in Compatibility mode + Administrator.

I have experienced temporary freezings (they unfreeze after a while) in certain areas.
Perhaps this is just on my computer but my game always freezes for a short period when I run into an area on any server with a certain placeable, which is the "Weeping Willow" tree found in Southeast Bezantur behind Temple of Sune.

I think that is you're local files, I personally have only in very rare cases crashed on the server (Mostly caused by my cabel..) I suggest trying a re-install or perhaps googling the issue, usually there are people with similar problems in the world.

I suggest you rename your override folder first and then try if this does any difference. If it does think about what you really need and then put in one override after another, testing between each addition.

Re-installing wont do it, I re-installed NWN two times just at Nov-Dec 2010 on the very same computer and even installed it on other computers of mine.
Nothing on google so it is probably an individual problem likely related to my graphic card, I've had to keep some of my new graphic cards outdated in drivers just to be able to play NWN properly. (My cards don't really like NWN)
Aaand it doesn't really bother me as it doesn't actually -make- me crash though it might wind up killing me someday.

I had the same thing when I got my new comp. I have 64 bit (win7) capability and because of that the NWN config defaulted to it.
Try this, at the main menu go to config settings and set them to 32 bit. That should help.

Win 7 works fine. Since you are still using xp, you may want to try and roll back to older version and run it as an administrator.

Thanks but I really do not feel the need to fix it, I was merely pointing out what could be the cause of the freezings according to what I have experienced when playing the game on this and other servers. Also the freeze that lasts for 3-5 seconds, not a crash, is only caused by a specific placeable that is rarely used and I would not be willing to roll back my PC and do all kinds of tweaks just to get rid of something trivial like that. Thanks for all the feedback however, greatly appreciated!
As for "Run as administrator", I don't know if XP uses such, atleast I have never been in need of it nor heard of it.
