Flight of The Dragon Legionnaire - zDarkShadowz - 07-18-2013 "What?! What are you talking about?!" "I'm s'ry, but ah don't believe ah know yah well enough to let yah craft items of tha' calibre." The dwarf quartermaster stood across from a towering, armoured warrior, and idly scratched his beard. The man's blazing scimitar was writhing in its sheath, mimicking the anger emanating from this enraged soul. The dwarf scratched his beard idly, and smiled through golden teeth. "I've been dealing with you for months and- "Aye, and although yah have b'n quite an asset to tha legion, and mah coinpurse, I'm afraid I can't let yah use this here forge for those par-ti-cu-lar enchantments." The man in the dark green armoured mutters under his breath, taking off his helmet to reveal golden brown hair and blazing sapphire eyes, whose pupils quickly narrowed into slits. "Did the Sergeant put you up to this? I swear he's trying to-" He cuts off mid-sentence, as two figures materialise out of the shadows behind the forge. Their robes were of mismatched quality and colours as if to blend in with the wall, and their hoods were kept low about their faces. "Hah, the Dragon Legionnaire was easy to find... I bet we could've found him even without the target painted on his back.." One said to the other, before being slapped harshly. "Quiet!" The slapper said, before beginning to cast the legendary ninth circle spell of Time Stop... and Time did stop, the wizard frozen before he could complete his magic as The Dragon Legionnaire pocketed what looked like a dragon eye encased in glass, and then drew his blade, swiftly striking him down before turning his blade to the neck of the other robed figure. "Explain, or you will be the next to die." The wizard remained silent, but his throat muscles began to move while his mouth remained closed. Silent spell... like that will work on me. With his left hand, The Dragon Legionnaire rubs against a rune emblazoned into his belt, enveloping himself in a shield of shadows as an impossible monstrous apparition appeared from thin air, twin heads snapping and biting at The Dragon Legionnaire, and he stood unphased as the illusion disappated. "Is that your last trick?" He asks, quirking an eyebrow at the brave magician despite the blood trickling down his neck as the blade bit in deeper. The magician nods but once, his hood falling forward further as he lowered his eyes in his despair. "Explain!" The Legionnaire demanded once more, the blade flaring up to seal the wound on the man's neck before the tip of the blade moved toward the magicians groin. With a gulp he spits it what he knew.... It's time to leave Thay. The legionnaire is now running thorugh his abode, tiled floors and wooden walls and a large dragon statue passing by as he kicked open doors leading to his treasure chests. "Every one, traceable?!" He yells out in frustration, waving a small, glowing stone stained with blood over his items, as it flared up one after another. The Dragon Legionnaire checked his equipment, and that too, had been marked with some tracing magic, as the Dragon Legionnaire puts away the stone taken from the magician into one of the chests. "It seems I've made some enemies... dangerous enemies..." He frowns, glancing around the room suspiciously. Wearing some mundane robes and cloak that were not currently affected by this magic yet, the man bundles up his most prized possessions and leaves the house, keeping himself disguised and as inconspicuous as possible as he left the house, taking one glance back before locking the door and stepping the key deep into the dirt below his foot. ...Well, I did say she might have to sell off my stock someday... A man stood in a stall, idly yawning as he rearranged his merchant's attire. Glancing with a nonchalent look at his wares, he resigned himself to a sigh and glanced around at the adventurers running around, passing by his stall without a second glance. "I'd like to sell this very large bag of potatoes, if you would." The man at the stall blinks as a cloaked figure puts a musty old sack onto the bench. "... I'll give you one talon. It's not my money anyway." The merchant shrugs nonchalently. Someone might actually buy something here for once he thought. With another blink the figure was gone without even taking a talon as payment. Bored, the merchant emptied out the contents of the satchel next to his wares beside him, and almost had a heart attack. The sudden, large jingle of metal falling into a heavy heap drew the attention of one passing adventurer, and another and another, as the merchant quickly regained his composure and placed what he thought were unreasonable prices, though the objects he had acquired were likely worth far, far more... ... Murbant. The smell of sea spray hits the air as a cloaked figure boards a large galley nestled in the soaking docks, dark clouds floating above the sea's in the distant horizon. "Where would you like to go?" "As far away from Thay as you can take me..." "I can take you as far as Aglarond, but it'll cost you." A large amount of talons flows into the ship captains hand promptly, and the ship sets sail. Taking one look back, the cloaked figure takes one last look at Thay. Well... I came here with nothing... and I'm leaving here with nothing... but still... He quirks a grin as something large ruffles underneath his cloak. It hasn't been a complete waste... It's almost dusk, and the sea's surrounding the boat grow still, and even the wind dies down as the ship abruptly stops to a dead halt. A hatch opens as the cloaked figure rises out of the cabin to see if the ship had hit something. The captain looks around from his position at the wheel, scratching his head in confusion, as a feeling of unease hits the boat. The cloaked man runs to the edge of the boat and looks out toward distant Thay, to see multiple lights growing brighter and brighter. The barrage of flaming, magic arrows strikes at the ship, each arrow piercing right through the hull and into the sea as the ship becomes ablaze with fire and begins sinking within seconds... I should've checked the talons, too... |
