Slave Quarters - Lodgeing - TheShadowEntity - 12-04-2014

I would like to suggest that a room be added or designated in the slave quarters of each town that enslaved Pc's could use to rest in... Either that or just add a tag so slaves can sleep anywhere regardless of the "comfort level".

Currently inns do not rent to enslaved PC's and since they have no option to simply sleep on the street it makes recovery almost unrealistically imposable because no matter how desperate they are there is no option to just say "well i guess i have to sleep in this ally". I find it hard to believe that anyone would die of lack of sleep before succumbing to exhaustion somewhere.

I cant be the only one who sees this as a problem so in order to (hopefully) gain some support i am adding an anonymous Poll to the end so you can just say "good idea" or "Bad idea".

You could always just sleep on the road.

This is not a problem.

First, you will never die from lack of sleep. Becoming fatigued results in ability score penalties, with the worst that will happen if you succumb to exhaustion is that you doze off for a few moments at in inopportune time.

Next, if you're talking about a PC slave wandering around, that means he/she has a PC master. Their PC master needs to provide for them - this slave-being-a-pain-in-the-ass setup is intended to reinforce to both master and slave PC that the slave is not just another free-roaming individual. The master should, at the least, probably buy the slave flint and tinder and a bedroll. The slave can harvest some dry wood and setup camp outside a 'civilized' area if they need to rest if their master isn't around.

Finally, if you're talking about Thayan Gladiators, it is intended they only rest in the Ludus Magnus which is their life and home when they're not bleeding in an arena or training somewhere. Or if you're talking about escaped slaves (arguably the most difficult faction/concept to play in this PW), they have a special merchant who provides the camp necessities to them, as well as a faction stronghold that has a free resting spot for them.

I know at least one Caravanserai (Bez) has a common room as well that you can rest in. Otherwise, the master of the slave should be providing a place for him/her to sleep.
If you are a masterless slave then you've got some problems and best find the encampment runaway slaves go to. ;)

If you're in one of the more common towns, you can always check the sleeping floor of inns anyways.

Sometimes penny pinching deviants will have *ahem* left some doors unlocked after use.

Delete the bear down there so gladiators can actually sleep.

No you cant.... That's the whole reason i posted this.

I just don't see why one room in the slave pens of each town cant be designated for this purpose since that's what there supposed to be there for to begin with.

Perhaps just have some fee like 1 gold per night or something since they are just being given a place to sleep outside the sight of there owner?

If you have a tent or bedroll and flint and steel all you need to do is chop down a dead tree. Make a camp fire and put your tent/bedroll down to rest. You can do this in any area that is not a city/town or indoors (cave/crypts/etc)
