I have noticed something i wish to bring to your attention! - FrodoTheFluffy - 02-04-2015

I have seen and been told that a player has been made to feel alienated from groups and players! Now don't get me wrong we aren't going to get on with every persons play styles or the way they roll in dungeons or just in generally are! Now this player naming no names is not only feeling left out but disheartened against the fact that people don't involve them. This actually upsets me to hear as Thay is supposed to be player friendly and fun for all. Everyone here at some point or another gets annoyed by someone else but that doesn't mean that you should shut that player out completely.

What annoys me the most is that this player doesn't know why people are leaving them out because no one will speak out or say their peace as generally you should.

I am bringing it to every ones attention because not only if this keeps up will you most likely lose a player due to the way you make this player feel, I myself have stopped listening to all the said stuff and i play with this player regularly because we should aid when a player is in need of help and group up for parties for fun and adventuring!

In my eyes the way this player is made to feel is wrong and goes against our core values of this server so i think that people should suck up the way they feel and move on because as i said above you may lose a very valuable and good player because behind the curtains this player is not only loving and friendly but up for fun just as anyone else is and also able to speak their mind just as much as the next person!

Personally I send a welcome tell to new players and offer my assistance if necessary. I am always willing to try and meet them in game an help if possible.

I have done this in the past sometimes I am able to spend more time with them and sometimes not do to prior commitments. If our levels are too extreme then
I might assist them with bandages or potions or if it is Cara the Druidess cast a few protection spells

There is one new player who ever since they logged on never acknowledged my welcome tell which is fine. However a few times my characters came in contact with their character I was ignored. This same player has done the same with others. Maybe they choose to play solo and that is fine.

To be fair we are not all mind readers. We cannot automatically know where players are. Also on weds and thursdays there are closed dm events which have been going on for sometime.

By the same token, if a newer player comes on and I am in the middle of rp or quest, I will tell them so and try and meet after I am finished. I also allow them to send me a tell if they have questions but to understand if I do not respond right away.

Even established players like myself come on and others are involved which is fine I know enough that I can do things on my own. It took me awhile to accept this fact as I prefer to interact with people rather then solo, but that is what is nice about Thay you can solo.

Many times DM's will come on and do spur of the moment things.

In order to be known the player needs to make themselves known.

I'm all for being inclusive and friendly, but I have to disagree with and question a number of things that have been said here. We've all got our own play styles and can choose to play with those whom we like playing with. If someone is running around doing no RP, or RPing in some way I find very annoying, then IMO it's perfectly okay to choose not to play with that person.

Now, I don't know which player you're talking about here, but I've found Thay (ironically) to be a very friendly, welcoming place to play. If this player isn't finding it to be that way, maybe they need to ask themselves what they can change to make that happen. Perhaps the player isn't approaching other players in a way that they like. Or perhaps there's an RP reason they're being excluded.

I'd suggest this player should just simply ask other players. Since we don't know who the player is (or at least I don't) we can't really initiate a conversation from our side.

Emphasis added by me. I disagree. I don't know if they're actually being excluded or only feel excluded, but either way they're not having fun and they want to have fun. But everyone is here for fun, so if I find playing with certain player to be not-fun, I will limit my interactions with that person, and I wouldn't ask any other player to change their play style or have not-fun on the server simply to allow someone else to have fun in their own way.

I'm not sure what "core value" of the server you think is being violated. I know one of the basic things is to go ahead and play in your own style, but that can mean feeling isolated on this RP-heavy server if you're a pure hack-and-slash player or powergamer who doesn't RP.

To be clear, I'm not saying "too bad" to this player. I'm saying do some self-examination or some talking with other players and see if the situation can be changed.

This issue has been resolved and the thread will be locked. I was going to delete the thread but I see a few things that are just good advice.
