Carcass Announcement - Purulent Carcass - 02-09-2015 I had a computer mishap on Saturday and I am not going to be making any dates this week, so this will include Wed and Thur. I should be back by the weekend once I can afford to replace my stuff. Sorry all, will cya soon. RE: Carcass Announcement - Wids - 02-09-2015 You did seem surprisingly quiet all weekend. We'll see you soon. (And whatever you do, don't buy an Acer! Acer is crap.) RE: Carcass Announcement - Animayhem - 02-09-2015 Good Luck RE: Carcass Announcement - Bela - 02-10-2015 Hope you're back up and running soon. :D RE: Carcass Announcement - MoreThanThree - 02-10-2015 Bring back snacks! Actually i have found that Acer has some of the best advanced support of any manufacturer when it comes to utaliseing things like ECC. I know that my own computer would suffer terribly if it wasn't for the ECC Ram that I use. RE: Carcass Announcement - NOITCA - 02-11-2015 Lovin' my Acer Aspire R7... RE: Carcass Announcement - Purulent Carcass - 02-13-2015 No brand name computers for me, thank you. I have always had a machine that I built from parts. I should be good to go now. Thanks everyone. RE: Carcass Announcement - Animayhem - 02-13-2015 We're doomed...... :P RE: Carcass Announcement - TheShadowEntity - 02-13-2015 (02-13-2015, 01:41 AM)Purulent Carcass Wrote: No brand name computers for me, thank you. Thats what i was talking about :P Acher motherboards have extremely good support for ecc and advanced cpu fetures.. Trust me i know what i am talking about, i built my pc as well from parts :D . This is my baby :) 14 core distributed computeing @ 3.6 GHz with 36GB ECC-Ram. The sound card is protected from heavy current draw by a small thermionic valve amplifier (you can vaguely see the tubes glowing at the bottom) The bottom segment is essentially the worlds largest Ram-disk allowing me to not only have maxed out the data bus but also gives me true volatility in memory. Unplug the computer for even a second and both the swap and temp files are irrecoverably gone thanks to the Volatility effect of DDR. I also can run windows programs in Linux with very close to 100% compatibility due to being able to visualize them in a somewhat unique way. 2 ATI 5970's for graphics (I know what your thinking those cards are like 3-4 years old now... yes but its a warhorse of a card.) CPU's are liquid cooled, that top segment is the radiator. Hehe... I could go on for hours on this subject :P But seriously, Acher has some great advanced features for ram.. MSI has some nice unlocking ability that can sometimes unlock extra cores in your cpu. Just dig around and find the feature-set you need. |
