Ducate's Books of Terrible Poetry - Wids - 05-20-2015

(This is a bunch of OOC stuff to put your minds at (relative) ease: )

1) The books will only be found in persistent storage containers.

2) The persistent storage containers are only in areas accessible to the common public. They won't be in the Members Only areas of the temples, they won't be in the barracks of the various Legions, they're not inside the Veiled Tower, et cetera.

3) They're not inside any Player Character houses. Yes, that includes Corella's house.

4) They're not inside the rentable rooms, suites or private lodging accommodations of Thay's various inns, taverns and resorts.

5) They're also not in any dungeons, sewers, non-claimable houses, wilderness areas, alternate planes or anywhere else where naughty beasties can be found. Such places tend to not have any persistent storages anyway, so this is pretty much a given.

6) They're not in any vault chests or saddle bags, for obvious reasons.

7) They're not in the inventory of any merchant (unless another PC puts one there, that is).

8) They're not inside any donation box, donation bag or donation container of any other kind.

(Don't know what this is all about? I guess you'd better get in-game and look around, then. :P )

(Well, it seems like the talkative longshanks is catching up to the lightly armored pacifist lass, but neither has found all four of the volumes yet (though one of them has found two copies of the same volume). Keep up the thorough exploring and searching, you diligent poetry hunters! :) )

RE: Ducate's Books of Terrible Poetry - Wids - 06-11-2015

So after a number of Ducate's Books of Terrible Poetry found their ways into the hands of several diligently observant wayfarers roving their own paths across the face of Thay, ravens were sent here, ravens were sent there and a darkly clad hin at times known as Krees ventured to the Traveler's Sojourn to seek an audience with a certain Duchess Dewdrop Dia Shasta of Mothskirt, conferring with one of the noblewoman's servants before furtively emerging hours later with what may or may not have been a rather important scroll tucked into some nondescript cranny on his person.

And thus the race for the Books of Terrible Poetry draws to a close.

(Kudos and praise to anyone who joined in on Corella's challenge, Krees the Mute and Mirella Locke in particular. Scattering all of those books around Thay was a bit of work, and several of those volumes are still hidden somewhere out there; I'm just going to leave them where they are, so that future generations may stumble upon them and learn what bad poetry really looks like. Have fun out there, adventurers. And enjoy the figurine house, Krees. ;) )

Wow, I thought I actually did. Can't remember exactly where I found what I found but I know Oghma's was one of my earliest searches.

RE: Ducate's Books of Terrible Poetry - Wids - 07-24-2015

(Oghma's temple was too obvious, so I stashed a book at Jergal's Temple instead. Also, someone cleared out the containers in Nephthys' temple, the Jerill's House brothel, Surthay's Caravanserai and that one tavern's kitchen in Amruthar (the Cracked Mug/Flagon/Whatever), but what about the Crystal Ball, the River Queen and Kossuth's temple in Tyraturos? Did anyone check those containers? ;) )

I definitely checked all ships, sea and air. Some of the places you mention I wasn't even aware had publicly accessible persistent storage though.
