Days that make your heart race.. - Payne - 03-29-2011 Just figured something like this would be fun, a little recap of something that got your heart pumping. So Kaiser entered the Mulhorandi tomb and immediately knew something was very wrong. The entire room, glowed red with traps. While that made my stomach lurch, it was seeing what was coming out of the back doorways. A Dread Warrior, one of those fast walking Monk Zombies, and a Zombie Warrior. Maybe not so bad, they move kinda slow, right? No, how can I avoid them with traps littering the entire floor? So he had to stand there and fight! *dramatic music* So fight I did, and I was doing well, until the damned Monk Zombie pulled his stunning fist. I stood there watching my life go down, and down, and down....Yay! It end and I down my emergency potions. The fight finally ends, and Kaiser stands there beaten and bruised. Now I am feeling pretty darn good about myself, so I decide to do a little solo rp with my familiar. I was having fun watching them argue about who gets to disable the traps, when during a long winded speech by Kaisers Imp is interrupted by a Half Orc Skeleton!! More dramatic music, and the fight ends with Kaiser completely drained of spells. But hey, all good, right? Nothing to fear with everything dead. So I go back to familiar rp and find something I didn't expect...the door has locked behind me... Now they are trapped, traps still fill one side of the room, and I suddenly hear something. Casting... Sure enough, my imp goes to see what was up, and here stands a fully buffed Spellstiched Ghoul (Ghostly Visage and Death Armour) coming toward him! I quickly unposess the imp and the little bastard flees from battle. So Kaiser is now all alone, only have access to one half of a tiny room filled with coffins, and he only has a damned frost wand. Might be enough eh? Nope, the Ghostly visage makes the wand ineffective! So running, running, running, the Imp coming in once in awhile to help, and more running. Finally buffs drop, and the wand is finally effective! Wham! One of the cold traps stuns Kaiser. I cry a little, maybe even a little wetness in places below the desk...and I prepare myself to the decision of Fugue. *sighs* My life is down to a sliver, his death is imminent. I say things rather harsh to my little laptop screen, and the Imp rushes in to attack!! *crowd cheers, babies squeal, old women faint* The Imp distracts the Ghoul long enough for the stun to end, and Kaiser flees to heal! Hurray! After a long long battle *many emotes during of Kaiser yelling to the Imp to "Open the God damn door!"* And the nasty Ghoul finally falls. Bandages are almost completely out, potions all drank, and I swear the frost wand was smoking. But the hero's survive, and I think some lacy underpants were thrown into the room from some adoring fans. (if this was you, send PM's :) ) Anyways, anyone who knows Kaiser, know that he has been looking for a Tan Spiked Helm for a couple weeks now. So what do I find on one of the bodies?!?! A.....a......Blue..Plumed...Helment..... Seriously, I can't make this up. Now I am both a little ticked, but Kaiser and I both start to emote laughing our butts off. Surly we are both cursed, but what can you do? So, I start to look at my spell slots to ensure I have a means to get out of here (This is where I remind the readers of the locked door, and the traps that still remain, one being on that door) So after a quick peek, I pat myself on my shaking shoulder, that a knock spell is prepared! Yah, I'm that good. So cast, sparkly lights, and a sound "click" as the door opens. All I need to do now is convince that cowardly familiar to open that damn red door. Just as I am about to do the whole Right Click>Possess Familiar>thing, a little yellow text appears on the bottom of my combat window.... "Something feels wrong" OH COME ON! An Assassin, here?! Now?! Sure enough, this duel wielding bastard of a Halfling, comes rushing into the room. And yes, dweeb familiar flees yet again! So another long, long, frost battle begins anew.... After a few minutes of listening to the crowd give the "Oooh Aaah" as they watch this mini war of the wills, the Hin falls. Kaiser doing his best Soccer imitation, takes a few steps and kicks the little head into a sweeping arc across the room. It was a sure highlight reel moment, the World Cup would surely have been his. Alas, he did not get to celebrate, for he decided to shed his ego and heroic demeanour, and run the hell out. He made it to the Sea Wolf, bought the high security room, and slept for at least a day. And I do mean slept, none of his adoring fans were around to help him...you know...relax. *sighs* Cursed I tell you. Anyways, this is my silly little recap. I don't know if such a occurrence is naturally made, or a very nasty Dm was making me a surprise. But either way, this will be a lasting memory for me, and will keep me coming back for more. I'd love to hear anyone else's heart pounding moments, so post away! Cheers RE: Days that make your heart race.. - EdinSumar - 03-29-2011 The traps were my fault, though not intended for you, forgot to clean them up after an event. Glad it helped set the mood, though. - Edin RE: Days that make your heart race.. - Payne - 03-29-2011 Haha! Thats great Edin :D They certainly did make it that much more exciting RE: Days that make your heart race.. - Hellstrom - 03-29-2011 Very funny, nice recap :) Love the part about the blue plumed helm ;) A couple of minor suggestions, take them or leave them as you like: 1) always, always, always have one stone of recall set up to a safe area and have it hotkeyed 2) if you like you can talk to your familiar about tactics (when not fighting) about changing their behavior in combat. I understand it's an RP decision, but at least the choice is available. You can do the same thing with summons so they don't attack locked chests, doors, etc |
