Mounted combat annoyance
#1
The monster fanatical paladin has always been an annoyance, but recently i've had situations in every fight that i have with one every time i do a hit of damage it uses it's "mounted combat feat to avoid the damage". This is literally every hit for me. I stood in a battle for almost 10 minutes and had a dight with one on Jay before deciding it wasnt worth it. Does anyone else get this problem?

Its not just the paladins, but any attacker on a horse displays that feat at least once. They can be defeated and it takes a bit longer to do it alone than with others.
Your build and what you use to fight with matters as well.
Caramiriel:Retired

Rimeth: Merchant of Bezantur
Marister (dead) -Ranger -Robin Hood of Thay (death marked for pissing off a Daeron.)

They've always had that, as far as it happening every time blame the RNG.

It also doesn't protect them from magical damage...

Anyway I agree it's more than just mildly annoying (one might say unbalancing),

And thus I offer one solution:

As far as I'm aware the success % is based on their ride skill (as is the PC's with that feat), thus, if the NPC's were nerfed to have a lower ride skill (which I presume is by default maxed for their level, maybe even with skill foci on the paladins?), this skill should trigger less often...
Currently Playing:

Galambos Thrune - Griffon Knight
Archibold Vanderdaghast - Palemaster
Anders Maerklos - Spellsword
Chessala Zolond - Yathrin d'Lolth

I rather like it, to be honest. Running is an option if you stood and fought for 10 minutes. This doesn't really start to become an issue until you get up further in levels, and only if you have particularly bad luck. If anything, I say leave it alone--a mounted paladin *should* be a terror to fight. Paladins in general are rather weak in NWN X games, having the black little hearts of our characters tremble when a paladin turned fanatic is riding them down just seems peachy to me; if not a sort of karmic-justice. ;)

If I were to recommend a change, it'd be that paladins do not attack good-aligned characters unless first attacked by them as they can Detect Good at will.

Run Away!! (And later lie and say that it was the paladin that fled...)

That's my usual course of action when I see one.
