When creating Potions, Scrolls, or Wands, PCs get charged 10-14% of an item’s value. The base is 10% with a 1% increase for every spell level (so creating wands with 4th level spells will cost 14% of the GP value. Still though, with a decent appraise check you could potentially stand to make a good chunk of money selling 4th level crafted items to merchants (or especially other PCs). The XP cost has been increased to 10% of whatever gold it costs a PC to make an item. A minimum charge of 25 gold and 25 XP will be taken for crafting any item, so for lower level spells it won’t be ‘economically feasible’ to create them only for the purposes of selling them. Consider it being the fact that Thay has magic around every corner, so a Wand of Light is just going to get a big yawn from the merchants who have seen items 100 times more powerful and useful.
Currently there is a limit of only creating wands up to 4th level and potions up to 3rd level. This could be changed in the future. All spells can be scribed to a scroll with the same GP and XP cost as mentioned above.
In all, everything player-facing remains the same as the default NWN crafting system for these items. You can still choose the Craft Wand, Scribe Scroll, and Brew Potion feats. You can use them in the same method you have before (they still work just the same as in the default game) by purchasing or finding Bone Wands, Empty Potion Bottles, and Blank Scrolls.
What you may notice though is a change to the gold and experience that will be taken (much lower gold cost, relatively higher XP cost) as well as the fact that they you cannot create any item with a spell level above their own caster level.
An additional feature to this is that PCs can now purchase a ‘Level Setter’ from various merchants. This will allow a PC to create these crafted items at lower levels then what they would normally do. This can be useful for creating a wand/potion for a lower-level ally or customer. See the conversation that pops up when you use the Level Setter item for more details.
