According to Forgotten Realms lore according to this website:
http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Dwarven_waraxe
Dwarves should be able to use Dwarven Waraxe as part of their martial weapon proficiency. Not all dwarves, only those that have the martial weapon proficiency.
I know there is a concerted effort to remain true to the lore, so is there any chance this can be implemented?

Hullo! Does anyone have any thoughts on this...I mean besides me, of course. Heh.
Just trying to get an idea about whether or not this would have any support from the community. Not a huge deal if no. I realize it is work to be done for a very small minority of players....and by minority, I mean me, sadly...and work, especially in a leisure time activity like this has to be prioritized based on its impact and usefulness to all.
I am just interested because my char is at a crossroad for needing to choose a weapon to focus in. I just made 5 but haven't leveled yet. I can take my focus as late as level 6 without screwing things up too badly, so I have plenty of time to wait for it to happen if the answer is "yes."
Thanks in advance!

Suck it up and take exotic weapon proficiency and claim your dwarven birth-right.

But if it is a birthright, shouldn't I be able to use it without spending a feat on it...much like elves can use longswords?
:-)
(That and I can't. I would have had to level very differently to make room for the exotic weapon proficiency)

I dare say the chances are slim to none-exsisting for this to happen, as then similar arguments could be made for all the races.

Most every race has the appropriate starting feats, even the subraces.
I don't think it's at all a bad request to make or consider, though I imagine it would be technically difficult. Involve the creation of a new feat specifically for the dwarves' racial weapon proficiencies.

The difficult part, is making it to follow the lore and linking it to the race and the martial weapon proficiency. It would be much easier to make it usable by all dwarves.....as I understand it, and I am no expert on scripting.

Actually...not so difficult. ;) Let me take this one to the designer forums, and let us discuss it there. :)
