If anyone has heard me complain IG or OOC about horses, shields, and lag, you will hear it no longer. If my PC is mounted, I have stuttering on my screen, but it is playable. If two horses are on the screen, I have moderate issues, major if one of them are running (or both; running compounds it). A fix is that I have to have separation of horses between PC's. With three or more horses I don't even bother riding, as I can't control my screen, and certainly cannot be a contributing member of my party during combat. Imagine if you run into two Mounted Archers, or a Mounted Archer and a Mounted Paladin...mayhem.

So much of my RP has been crippled, because I look at a Tempan as a kind of Mounted Warrior, and I could not get on a horse with people. So many times I say "let's take the caravan" because the gameplay is literally headache inducing otherwise.

All that has changed. :D

Last night Khreed (who had the same issue, but to a lesser extent) discovered what the resolution to that issue was...a sound setting. It turns out that NWN (running on my Win 8.1 machine anyhow) does not like the "RAD Game Tools RSX 3D Audio" setting...like, at ALL!

Any of the other 4 sound settings (under the advanced button) will work fine, and Khreed and I tested it out last night, and side by side we were as smooth as silk.

So, thank you my friend, you just made my game so much more enjoyable...more than you already do. ;)

I've actually tried the different sound settings... I'm still on XP of all things lol

The strange thing is, if you equipped a shield while mounted it made it even worse. lol Try it and equip/unequip a shield, and see if it makes a difference for you; sure did for us.

And as for XP, I never noticed any issues, as NWN ran fine for me on that platform; it was the same age as the game. :P
