So I went to see the new Conan movie...

All I can say is....

Know, oh prince, that between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis, and the years of the rise of the sons of cannabis, there was a reboot dreamed up, when shining bongs and mighty bowls spread across the desk of Oppenheimer like stars did not - Momoa, Mcgowen, Perlman, Freeman, All were called and served, but the great warriors of old, Mako, Earl Jones, De Laurentis and the proudest warrior of all Schwartzenegger, rode away into the dreaming west.
Hither came Conan the Barbarian, Hack-penned, Cee-gee’d, sort of bland, in 3d, cut with a cleaver, with gigantic misdirection and gigantic lack of the original music, to tread the jeweled reputation of the original film beneath its mandalled feet.

That is the way of things these days, sadly...

Is it worth even taking a look at or what?

I haven't seen it, but I love all the movies, and read some of the books as well.

It depends...are you the type to want to fly into a murderous rage to see a chidhood icon treated badly? If so....wait till video...and then make sure to have the television safely ensconced behind a piece of bulletproof glass...with padding on all the walls..and all throwable objects a safe distance away...

The movie was a poor Conan, the actor was a poor Conan. So if you are stuck on seeing "Conan" then this movie will leave you wanting.

Now if you never saw the original, or can ignore this was an attempt to replace the cannon we grew up with, it's a decent movie.

What they should have done, was copy how they remade Star Trek. New story to match the new man. There was action, decent fighting, passable characters, but this was no remake.

Course one could twist it into saying it was nice to see Khal Drogo again, stupid books....
