Idea I had; differentiating spell schools
#1
I was thinking about how little difference it makes mechanically which school a wizard takes, and thought I might make a suggestion. These are the ideas I had, as far as implementation I thought either they could be tied directly to school choice, added to red wizard robes, or added to the forge as an option only available to a red wizard enchanting their robes. I'm guessing bonus feat on item would be easiest.

Abjuration - Spontaneous cast any dispel or breach, sacrificing spell of same level

Conjuration - Ability bonuses to conjuration based summons, based on spellcraft

Divination - Spellcraft grants AC like tumble(my thought)/remove 1 per 24 hour limit on scrying(suggested by WingsOfStardust((Either unlimited per day, 2 or 3 per day, or make it level based?)))

Enchantment/Evocation - +1 DC to school spells(mine)/+1 per 5 spellcraft to school DC(Wings)

Illusion - All illusion spells with a duration are cast as if extended

Necromancy - Spell like ability usable on NPC corpse to create undead based on deceased's class and level as well as caster's level/int/spellcraft

Transmutation - Any non polymorph, non self only transmutation spell cast by wizard on self is simultaneously applied to familiar and/or knight

Anyway, just throwing it out there, feel free to praise/tear down/add/whatever input anyone has.

I love the necromancy boon. :D
(Also support these ideas)

That would certainly give me a reason to play a Diviner (spellcraft granting ac like tumble idea). I think it's a great idea overall. So many reasons why many schools don't see PC members... this could help with that.

In PnP, though, Red Wizards also get Enhanced Spellpower (like heighten meta magic, raising the level-dependent spell variables), of their schools. Which would also be a nice custom feat on the robes... (tying the bonus levels to notoriety instead of Red Wizard PrC level would be an idea for here)

Circle Magic would be even greater but I realize that's even harder to do...

For the record, while I can appreciate the concept, I don't like the spell focus feats as a design principle here. I could ~maybe~ see them on the apprentice robes, to compensate for their lower spell power, but the Red Wizards themselves would/should have already taken them...

Well, they were supposed to be in addition to focus, because I couldn't think of anything unique for evocation and enchantment that isn't already a spell. And an apprentice should have lower spell power than a red wizard.
