Tithing at Temples
#1
About a year or so ago, If you were tithing the max at a temple you woul dnot get an alignment change. Then that was fixed so when you got the outstanding when you tithed your alignmant changed.

Recently due to being briefly a lycan, my character Rimeth lost three good points so I decided to tithe to Sune as they are one of the good alignments. I tighed a decent sum, got the outstanding but no change in alignment.

If required I can try at other temples to see if maybe only that temple affected
and make a bug report, however without dm intervention with gold it will be a long wait inbetween tithes.

I'm 90% sure it's not guaranteed no matter how much you tithe, just increases the chance exponentially.

It's not 100%. Tithing is meant to slowly shift your alignment over time.

The problem is no shifting not even one point was done. Way way back Cara was tithing like crazy and nothing was happening and she was tithing at high amounts. That character was not the only one others same thing.

Then it was fixed and when Cara tithed her alignment shifted. It got skewed again and she tithed again and it was fixed. I can understand maybe a few times but prior to th eprevious fix for about six rl months almost daily cara tithed and got no where.

That's a mistake I think. There's supposed to be a cooldown on when tithing can effect alignment, though I'm not sure if it only kicks in when you get a shift or just every time you tithe, and also not sure on the timer of the cooldown.

Yeah, you should focus on the amount you tithe, not how often

Dark Ranger and Bert are correct. To add some additional context, the higher the % you tithe, the better the chance that your alignment gets shifted. In addition, the higher the % you tithe, the greater the alignment shift.

Also, as mentioned, it is not guaranteed that every time you tithe your alignment shifts. Tithing a larger % gives you a better chance of 'gaining the notice' of the god and having your alignment shifted. But regardless of the % size of the tithe, the chance is increased by a couple factors, such as notoriety, overall level, and *especially* if you worship that deity. Higher level PCs devout to a deity who tithe 20% are almost guaranteed an alignment shift if they worship the god of the temple they are tithing to.

Next, there is a cooldown period in order to receive the alignment shift as well since it is meant to be a way to slowly shift your alignment over time. I won't give specifics on how long that period is, but tithing a second time within an in-game week or so will never result in an alignment shift (although I'm sure the temple appreciates it). This is very easy to spot if you tithed too soon after the last time as the priest will even say:
"While your coin is accepted, do not expect favor from "+sDeity+" simply by tithing every couple days."

Finally, there is a minimum threshold of gold required in order for the chance to get an alignment shift even occurs. The amount is randomized by your level each time you tithe. The higher your level, the more you'll need to give to get the shift. So if you're a level 15 PC, walking into a temple with 1000 gold and tithing 20% (a whopping 200 gold) will do nothing except restart the tithing cooldown for your PC again. This too is easy to spot as the priest will even say:
"While your coin is accepted, one of your reputation and experience should know a larger tribute is expected to gain the notice of "+sDeity+"."
