The Death of a Slave
#1
Taking the first opportunity he gets, the red haired slave slips out of his bonds, using his small amount of magic to undo the mundane shackles. His collar is much more resilient, and he still wears it as he flees west through the city. His pursuers, once comrades of the Priador legion, chase him as they would any slave, expecting him to head for the sewers or west gate. Instead the man sprints into the crypts, to die fighting as a man should, rather than fleeing his eventual fate...
As his blood pools beneath him, the man can't help but murmur an apology to his love, who perished soon before him, who he promised to protect...

//So ends the story of Rente Card, since, as I've said before, there is no way I could roleplay a slave, chains just aren't my style.//
“Cattle die; kinsmen die, The self must also die; But glory never dies, For the man who is able to achieve it.” -Sayings of the High One (Odin)

Accepting her fate, the auburn-haired Hin's spirit sits, if one can sit in such a place, in the fugue, waiting, waiting, waiting...for what, she doesn't know.
