Descriptive Text:
This woman appears well groomed with relatively short-cut red hair. Her stance and gaze give off an air of quiet determination as she takes in her surroundings with her sparkling deep blue-green eyes. Standing at about 5 foot, 7 inches in height, one might estimate her weight to be a very fit 143 pounds. Her features and accent hint that she was born or raised in or near Tantras for those knowledgeable enough to discern such regional features.

Back-story:
Ranndyne was born in Tantras and being happily raised with her siblings (older brother Alfrik, born in 1342, younger sister Aemilia, born in 1348, and younger brother Fergus, born in 1350) by her parents Ulgarth (a guardsman who patrolled the streets at night) & Hilde Rothsdottir (a seamstress) until at the age of 13 in the year 1358 her parents both gave their lives to empower Torm in his fight against Bane. Her older brother, Alfrik, though old enough that he could have given himself to aid in empowering Torm also, instead chose not to do so. He quickly turned away from the faith embittered by the loss of his parents and ran away to seek his own fortunes in the world, seduced into becoming a worshipper of Shar and leaving Ranndyne alone to care for their younger siblings ignorant of Alfrik’s new faith. At this point orphaned Ranndyne and her younger siblings were taken in by the Trueblades (an order of Torm dedicated to damage control after wars or catastrophic events) and given guidance toward becoming themselves devout followers of Torm. However, Aemilia did not take to the faith as fervently as Ranndyne and Fergus, and instead chose to follow Ilmater, having a most compassionate heart and not as much devotion to strict rules and disciplines, though she still lives with the Trueblades and her siblings. In the year 1363 Ranndyne was magically transported to Thay by mysterious saviors, given possibly false memories of being saved from a band of slavers by one of these saviors. The scene of her near capture and enslavement, and subsequent ‘rescue’ often replays itself in her dreams or nightmares from which she wakes in a state of near-panic upon such occurances. This is where her story in the land of Thay begins…

Possible Personal Storylines (from an OOC perspective):
One question that plagues Ranndyne continually is, “Who are the mysterious allies that apparently saved her from slavery?” The answer to this question may not be easily answered, however, some interesting possibilities for this line may include:

1- Her elder brother Alfrik and his new allies within the following of Shar and behind her (and her younger siblings) transport to Thay and he seeks a cruel revenge against Torm for the loss of his parents. Having separated all three of his siblings from each other after moving them to Thay, he works from behind the scenes to challenge their devotions to their chosen faiths and try to twist them into becoming followers of Shar as well. The dreams of being saved from slavers are a fabrication he has created as a means of control for working toward his nefarious goal.

2- They are the standard mysterious persons responsible for the common pool of adventurers in Thay sharing the same relative experience (but hey, that just doesn’t seem as special, right?)

3- They are a combination of the two examples above in some twisted way.

4- They are a collective of followers of the Triad who are actually seeking to undermine and change Thay from within, but had to force her into Thay without her consent or knowledge in order to better protect their true identities should she be captured and interrogated. The dreams of almost being enslaved were implanted as one way to inspire her to work against the current systems of Thay to bring about the change they desire.

Another question is, “How will her faith influence her interaction with the ruling powers of Thay?” Since her four duties are to her faith first, family second, masters third and all other good beings of Faerun lastly, this could be an interesting line of development to follow as it could provide some fun conflicts of reason and spirituality for her to face. How can she serve her new masters, the Red Wizards of Thay, without compromising her faith in Torm, or her devotion to family and good?
