Net Neutrality has been Ratified!

As of the other day the US government has reclassified the internet and granted it the same protections as a Utility.

This means that corporations cannot discriminate between sites or create bottlenecks in data in order to drive up prices. This is good news for everyone (except At&T, Comcast, and the other conglomerates).

Granted this affects US Citizens the most but Its perhaps the single most important bit of legislation in recent history regarding freedom here.

This was not "legislation" (an act of Congress, the Legislature), rather it was a new policy set forth by an administrative agency (the FCC, Federal Communications Commission). Unfortunately that means that this is a "rule" not a "law" and can be just as easily changed under the next administration (if, as is most likely, a Republican should get elected in 2016). Hopefully even the business-centric republicans would see the value in net neutrality - but unfortunately I don't see that happening.

Yeehaw, we all get to wade in the same pool of throttled down internet service at a premium price!! Awesome, except now, we get to pay a FCC fee on top of that! I hope the US Government tackles the shirt companies next. I am soooo tired of paying extra for a 2XXL shirt. Dodgy
