Thayan's Time Off
#1
Greetings everyone.

Effective immediately Thayan will be taking a break from the game. As you are all aware he has been working tirelessly on the hak update and all the new content it contained. It has been a daunting undertaking of which we are all still discovering all of it's hidden gems and we are all eternally grateful for the hard work he has put into it.

With this in mind, he will be away from the game for an indefinite amount of time; ranging from weeks to months. I ask everyone not to send him any PMs or emails during this time and to respect his much needed time off. If there is an emergent matter during this time, please direct them to myself or Sundraoi as appropiate. If you are unsure of who it should go to, then send it to both of us.

The ThayPW will be continuing in his absence, he will continue to check in on the server machine and reboot it as needed. There might be possible outages over the next week as he is on vacation and away from home. However, server reliability has been very good since the repairs last year so I do not suspect that to be an issue.

While he is away, there will be several changes that I want to make everyone aware of and these apply to content and problem reports:
  • As is obvious while he is away, there will be no new content added to the game. Any requests to make modifications/additions will be noted, filed and end there. I hope everyone can understand the reason. I will give you a few examples:
    1. No modifications to graphics used in the game. (pillars of light, spell effects, etc.)
    2. No new quest NPCs or tweaking of old NPCs(moving them, description changes, appearance changes, etc.).
    3. No new areas to explore.
    4. No existing PCs being converted to NPCs due to the upcoming three character limit, which will still go in effect by the deadline he previously mentioned.
  • Problem Reports will be handled by the best of our abilites by the DM team.
    1. If the problem report pertains to a spell not working as intended, then it will be just accepted as such. Use another alternative, we have plenty of them now.
    2. If the problem report pertains to an item, then a suitable replacement will be decided upon by the DM and the offending item will be removed from the characters inventory.
    3. If -for whatever reason- your character loses all of his stuff due to some kind of unforeseen mishap; the onus falls upon you to provide a detailed list of what was lost so that that it can be recreated. This of course does not apply to rightful deaths, impending server resets, et al as there will be no item replacement for those as there hasn't been in the past.
    4. If the problem pertains to a content issue, please see the above.
I am sure there are many possibilies I have missed, so with that in mind I will leave this thread open and address any questions you have in a professional manner so please do the same in return.

Thank you.
Pluto is still a planet.
