Marra Vathar
#1
Marra was born in Bezantur, to a family of a drunkard woman and a poor sailor. She spent most of her days at the docks and often hid in between the crates for the night, as she did not wish to return to the leaking shack where nothing but misery awaited her.

She understood that life was hard from her very early years, and learned to survive on her own, often spending her days in the harbor begging for a coin and gazing upon the sea, majestic in its wrath and incomprehensible in its endless beauty.

Like that, the sea became her only love, and the only thing she possessed true respect and admiration for. In Marra's mind, there was nothing in the whole world that could compete with its glory. No ship constructed by man, and not men themselves, who often quivered before the might of the waves, and begged for the gods to send them a safe journey back to the land where they had sailed from.

In the loud songs of the storms, that left so many shipwrecked and stranded, her bitter heart found vicious joy, and the longer she would listen and watch for the ocean's ever-changing moods, the more familiar it became to her. Until one day, it seemed, that through the whispers of the waves Umberlee herself spoke to her, and after a meeting with a priestess, Marra became a firm follower of the moody goddess.

Despite her poor background, Marra strives to be wealthy and favors the fanciest of things when she can lay her hands on them, driven by a deep jealousy towards the rich merchants she often saw in the port. She attempts to fulfill this dream by joining the Guild of Foreign Trade, where she figured her talents and connection to the sea would be most useful.

She is of a cunning and curious mind, yet her greedy heart is filled with bitterness towards the world.

She has a fondness for shiny trinkets, often covering herself with jewelries in a gaudy and rather tasteless manner.
