And hopefully one day we can avoid any DM intervention on something so small, allowing Dungeon Masters to focus on actual Dungeon Mastering instead of administrative tasks Rolleyes

Bards getting more languages?? :) Happy days! I'm all for that. Makes for good RP opportunities. Not just for learning the language, but for others trying to find someone who speaks a language to help them translate for someone, or all sorts of fun things like that.

Not that I'm biased or anything like that, of course. ;) Nope, me and my bard PC are totally impartial about that. ;)

Yes, totally impartial. *nods overly emphatically and winks*

Lots of reasons to track down a bard, whether for help in identifying an item (at better rates than merchants don't you know), or some snippet of lore/rumors, or a performance, or translation aid. All sorts of reasons. Very flexible for RP. Part of why bards are so much fun to play.
