NWN does not work
#1
When starting up NWN on my main machine; a Windows XP, I get the following:

Error Report:
AppName: nwmain.exe
AppVersion: 1.6.9.0
ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVersion: 5.1.2600.6055
Offset:000192f9

Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is? Drivers too advanced, misplaced ntdll.dll file? I've already tried reinstalling the critical patch and that failed, going through nwmain.exe is a fail too. Help!

Did you tweak anything or change anything in NWN or related to NWN?
Did you recently install any program that could affect others, for example: Programs to clean up your computer.
I'll be in the forum chat..

Sophos went haywire a while back and started quarentining and trying to disinfect everything, including itself. Things went wrong with NWN shortly after that and before I updated my graphics card to support Guild Wars 2 properly

"What causes Ntdll.dll Errors In Neverwinter Nights?

There are many reasons as to why this error will surface on your system such as damaged files, corrupt settings or file misplacement. We’ve found that with games like NeverWinter Nights, the most common issue is that the game placed an outdated version of the file onto your PC. However, if you have many video games installed in your system, you cannot afford to get this error. To fix the Ntdll.dll file error, just follow the steps outlined below."

Read it, but the ntdll.dll file IS in the windows system32 folder. The one with the same ModVersion code as wht was listed in the error report. It was there even as things went on the fritz

"To resolve this problem, you need to use a registry cleaner" ?
My tip to you is... Tuneup utilites.
Or.. you'll just have to re-install the game.
But before it copy the following:
portraits
overrides
local vault

or.. you can just choose to leave them where they are when uninstalling :)
I re-installed NWN recently, does not take too long.

Why? Because this looks like a registry error, un-installing and re-installing NWN would certainly put it back into whatever registry there should be. Or create it if need be. Go!

Well I did remove the program, then put it all back on, then updated it. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Same problems :/ I have no idea why
