Announcement
After years of many requests to add custom content, the decision has finally been made to do so. This means everyone will now be required to download custom content to play on the Thay PW.
In other words, after the setting reboot, you will need to download a Thay PW-specific hak in order to login to the server.
Details
To ensure that the Thay PW maintains a high quality standard and that custom content added for it is actually used and has a specific purpose for this PW, we will not be using CEP or any other hak compilation. Instead, KTA is putting together a small hakpak with quality custom content.
We are going to do everything in our power to keep Thay’s custom content to one (hopefully small) hakpak and required .tlk file. The initial release of this hakpak will contain things necessary for character creation - primarily new heads. In addition it may contain some new creature models, update the changes for our modified spells in your PC’s spellbooks and at level-up, and a few other important fixes and tweaks. It will not contain anything that can be accomplished via Client Override Files. So, for example, if you want an existing creature model to look different (like a Werewolf), you will still need to use an override to do so.
Sometime in the coming months we will add new clothing to this hak. But due to the sheer number of options and the time it will take to go through them, pick out the best, and do the necessary testing and changes to make sure they can all be selected at tailor models, clothing will not be in the initial release of this hak. When added though, the hak will need to be re-downloaded. After the clothing addition update though, it is my hope we will keep updates to the hak very few and far between.
Next Steps for You
Download the Thay PW hak found in the first post here: http://thaypw.org/showthread.php?tid=1598&pid=11606
Finally, let *everyone* you see in-game or if you play with them on other PWs know about this change so that people can get the hakpak before trying to login to Thay.
