A Decree from the Zulkir Council Posted in all Barracks and Citadels
It has come to the attention of the zulkirs that those who are not human have been infiltrating the legions of Thayan with the intention of gaining rank, position, and authority over the true and rightful human citizens of this land.
This. Will. Cease!
At this time, the following restrictions have been handed down to the tharchions, the tharchions to their tribunes, and through the ranks of our glorious legions. These changes are effective immediately!
1. Only humans may hold the rank of Captain or Tribune.
2. Half-bloods (Half-Elves and Half-Orcs) and those of Demon blood (Tieflings), if proven exceptional, will be allowed to ascend to the rank of lieutenant.
3. All other races are unfit to lead anything more than a squad and may never ascend past the rank of Sergeant.
4. Those races unfit for command who have been allowed to rise past their station will be DEMOTED by their master sergeants, effective immediately. If they resist, they are to be discharged from service so they may find and join a place more suited to one of their low station.
Together we will weed out non-humans who are altogether unworthy and unfit to bear rank. They are, of course, still welcome to join the legions as fodder, and perhaps even gain limited station if they survive that long. But *never again* will we allow these inferior creatures to be placed in command positions!
