Player Etiquette
#1
This is NOT directed at anyone in particular. First and foremost, I wanted to make sure this is crystal clear. These are things a LOT of people do that others find intrusive and/or annoying;

1 - Preaching to NPC's. This is a wonderful pastime when solo. This is not something you should be spamming when others are standing there trying to have a conversation. An argument for this, that it's rp. It's letting others know you are avid and active in your faith. To that, my response is to actually rp it. It's spammy, it's downright obnoxious. Don't do it around others UNLESS your plan is to be irritating.

2 - Do not ride your mount through a group of people, unless you plan to run them down.

3 - This is a biggie in my book. If you REALLY need to talk ooc, use tells first before spamming the scene with //yo peeps! and such.

4 - If someone makes an attempt to rp with you, don't ignore them. This is Thay, you can be as surly as Aznar Thrul, but give them a bone. If you are just in a hurry, let the player know via a tell and toss them some xp or something. Just don't ignore them completely. However, there is an addendum to this. See point 5

5 - If you see a group of people and you walk up and say hey, give it a minute and do not assume they are ignoring you. A lot of times, people are typing a response to something someone else has said before you got there. Give them time to read, respond and such, BEFORE stomping off because everyone is ignoring you.

6 - I've not seen a lot of this but thought I might as well bring it up. Wednesdays and Thursdays are normally event nights for two diffrent campaigns, respectively. At least one of these campaigns was opened to anyone that wanted to join it. So give those PCs a little bit of space and TRY not to derail whatever it is they have going on. Unless of course a DM gives you licence to. Normally they have quite a lot to do, in a relatively short amount of time. So a bit of space is appreciated. However, that doesn't mean you cannot interact with them, just try not to derail.

This is all I can think of for the moment, feel free to add some more tips.

I think this covers most of the biggies. #1 is a big peeve of mine.
Tempus' orders to all combatants:
1. Be fearless. 2. Never turn away from a fight. 3. Obey the rules of war.

Things To Do: :P
• Preach to every townie within 100 yards of Carcass. (Djed will probably kill them all, so be sure to loot them before he does.)
• Ride through a mob of PCs. Emote screeching tires and try to make the horse "drift".
• "// Hey, everybody! Check out these lists that I read on Cracked last night...."
• Ignore Carcass when his character tells me to STFU. Better yet, bawl about being ignored and ride off while he's typing.
• Be a jerk.
• Cook pierogi for Christmas.
• Put the cap back on the Kragle.
• Save the world!

(Har har. But seriously? I would mention something that I've encountered a few times in the past: If you send someone a Tell and they don't reply right that bloody minute, don't send them one (or more!) Tells to bug them because they didn't reply right that bloody minute, and don't assume that they're just sitting around, deliberately ignoring your Tells. That may not be the case at all; if your Tell comes to me at a bad time, I will ignore it or postpone replying to it. Your "hi" Tell is not important. The two Orc Savages trying to skewer my character's face at present are vastly more important than your exploratory "hi" Tell, the "hello?" Tell right after it or the "HOODY HOODY HOO!!!" Tell right frickin' after that. Thank you for understanding. Dodgy )

Things To Do
- Send multiple tells to Corella all saying, "Hey!"
- Beat her, schedule permitting.
- Strap Corella to magic rocket .
- Give Corella a permanant time out in zoo I make for that specific purpose if she comes back.

We should also add, do not taunt Carcass on the forums.

In response to the first item mentioned, preaching. What people seem to forget is that tha cut away scene is automatic and no control and in my open totally OOC. When my character preaches she would not be yelling or stomping her feet. I see no problem with it if a person is far away from a group. Take Tyra for instance.
If someone was preaching by the red trident and lets say a group started to form around Waukeens near the gate that is enough distance.

During the event of Kala and Kali, there was a lull in the action everyone was mulling about. Cara was in the bleachers, Kala and Kali were goofing around in the arena. Everyone else was on the opposite side from Cara far away so would not have heard her preaching. She is a Druidess so a priestess so naturally she would promote her faith as she is directed to.

I have been in situations with other players run off and preached to npc's. Personally it does not bother me as when this was done we were walking to our next area.

Yes descretion should be used but preaching is valid rp. You may start solo but then people come along. Those people need to take that in concideration.

You have to catch Corella first, Rudey McRude. ;)

But the Tells are just lame. Do you want to be lame? What would your parents say? o_o

Maybe you don't, but I do. He gives me new .gifs and YouTube links every time I do it, so yay, incentive! :P

Yes, they are. That's why I'm cooking them for Christmas. :)

Any pierog that comes in a box from the freezer section is the wrong pierog. Want good pierogi? Make them yourself, from scratch. That's how I cooked last year's Christmas borscht and the year before that's ratatouille. Scratch cooking or nothing for my family, dude. Cool

Indeed. It's not just a movie, and the movie itself was named after the dish. Behold, the Christmas Ratatouille of 2012!

Also, be nice to other players. There! Reconciled! :D

Trying to keep the thread ON TOPIC, if you are anywhere in that tent and someone starts preaching in the middle of RP, everyone in that tent is going to see it, and the dialogue is going to interrupt every single person. THAT TENT IS NOT THAT BIG! .. Common courtesy should be to preach elsewhere, that group didn't form around your character preaching, the group was already there.

.. I don't normally rant, but I am at this point.

okay.. now it may be valid RP, but it is also a little rude.. and the tents.. if everyone can hear the Game Master... chances are pretty good they can hear you too... I don't care who you are. Try to see what I mean next time you are in the tent.

and to point 5.. sometimes people are in party chat.. and it takes them awhile to figure that out... they could have been part of a quest, and just being absent minded, if they don't reply.. you might send a tell, asking if they are in party, rather than assuming they are ignoring you... just a thought.
