Greetings everyone,
Since I have become a DM I think the best adventures I have run have been based on requests by the players themselves, with them providing background details of their character and what they hope to achieve. So, I would like to extend this invitation to anyone who is interested in having an adventure ran for their character to send me a PM. There are a couple of guidelines to abide by:
1. Your goals have to be realistic. There will be no emperor of Thay or becoming a god campaign. Even lesser goals will be denied, like Autharch titles or becoming a Red Wizard without going through the trials.
2. Make your goal interesting, proved details and background information but leave enough wiggle room in the story where the DM can surprise you with the outcome.
3. Be prepared to handle not getting exactly what you want. If I think of a more interesting outcome than what you had in mind, I will go with it. I'm not out to screw you out of a good time, (far from it!) just trying to make your time more interesting.
4. Be prepared to handle the consequences of achieving your goal. It could have far reaching effects on your character. In other words, don't be surprised if your one shot adventure turns out to be an ongoing campaign of sorts.
5. Be patient. Depending on finding free time and coming up with ideas, it might take a couple of weeks between the request and running the adventure.
If this sounds interesting to you, pass the DM a note. ;)
