Rumors swirl that yet another Enchantment Forge was purchased by someone with too much money, and then left unwatched and unguarded in an unlocked building along a main thoroughfare - in Eltabbar itself, no less! And this time the enemies of Thay took advantage of the situation. As a result it was apparently stolen by Harper agents who almost escaped with it to Aglarond. It was only the brave efforts of a few inquisitive and loyal Lapendrar legionaries guarding the border (they certainly weren't looking for a bribe!) which prevented one of the most powerful tools created by the Red Wizards from being taken from the very heart of Thay by a mortal enemy.

Brandon Baxter, a powerful autharch of Eltabbar, was overheard telling those in the Tharchioness' Palace that the foolish building owner in Eltabbar is lucky to only have the forge now confiscated from their possession, with no recompense, instead of their life.

But as a result of this near disaster, the Red Wizards have decreed their Enchantment Forges may no longer be purchased through Furniture Catalogs of Tylar Durdyn, not even in Undrek'Thoz where a previous agreement had been reached to do so. Those still in possession of enchantment forges are "encouraged" to protect them...or else...!
