Beware! The Fate of Spies...
#1
Early in the morning of the 16th Eleint of 1364

A procession is nearing the Citadel of Correction. Slaves hurry before a Red Wizard Apprentice in immaculate robes and a score of Blooded Gnoll guards, clearing a path and shouting out to the citizen to gather. Other slaves drag and pull a wagon, covered with raw hides and something is moving within.

People on the busy market leave the stalls and flock around the main entrance of the Citadel. The Apprentice unrolls a parchment, before he starts to read he looks about the crowd with contempt and arrogance in his eyes.

Citizen of Bezantur! In the name of Aznar Thrul the magnificent, Zulkir of Evocation, beloved Tharchion of the Priador and Savior of the City, listen up!

Behold today the fate of a ruthless and scheming spy, lately caught in the attempt to infiltrate the Central Citadel, guilty of the murder of countless brave citizen and guards.

This woman, known as Harika Flux or Red Harika, has confessed her treasons and named those she was conspiring with and so earned the favor of a quick death. Those who have acted with her may come forward to gain the same favor - or will be hunted and die an unspeakable death!

Let justice be done!

The Apprentice points at some gnoll guards and grunting they uncover the wagon - gasps and then silence is the answer of the crowd. Inside the wagon sits a person that must have been a beautiful woman once, once because now there is almost nothing left of her. Writhing in agony she has little hair left, her bones can be seen under a yellow thin skin and her hands and feet are missing. Where her eyes use to be two black, crusted holes stare into the sun, but the most scaring feature on her face is the mouth - or better the lack of it...
Two guards carry her onto a large stone table and a third unceremoniously hacks off her head with a heavy axe.

The Red Wizard Apprentice, gnolls and slaves enter the Citadel and leave the crowd to stare at the remains of Red Harika Flux.

Up, above the city, crows and raven circle, waiting their turn.
