Client Override Files (COFs)
#1
There are a lot of them out there, and I'm unsure which ones you all are using.
But I'm putting together a list of them, feel free to add to the list.
*Edit*
These are all optional and NOT required.
I'm sorry this wasn't clarified, I've got to work on that.
But again. NOT required. =]

Portraits (Not really an override)
You would put these in your NeverwinterNights/NWN/portraits folder. (If there isn't one and you want these, create a folder and place it there

We do not use client overrides or hak packs of ANY kind... Portraits are another matter though...

Yup - KTA is right, no overrides or haks are required for Thay.

Just to clarify though, these that Langilear mention though are totally optional. If you choose to use any overrides, they will affect only you on your computer. If other players do not have them (and that's OK), whatever changes might be applied via your override folder will look like the original default NWN style to them.

For example, the override that Langilear links to will change the appearance of the Hood of Disguise if you choose to place it in your override folder so it will look like a hood on your machine. However, for anyone that does not have that override, it will look like a normal helmet when they see your PC in game - which is totally OK.

So if you have other overrides you use on your machines, feel free to post links to them here.

But just to reiterate - anything linked to in this post is not needed to play in Thay! :)

I just added a link to the totally and completely optional download Hands Model Override files in the list above. It does put a bunch of files in your override directory but it is pretty nice to have since it provides all of your PCs (and NPCs with a playable race appearance) with actual hands that have fingers, rather than the default club-ish looking hands for NWN. A minor change, but nice one for an RP server like ours.

All of these are completely optional.. and are not required for play on Thay!

These are some overrides that I use and really enjoy as well....

New Spell Icons:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=oth...il&id=1250

These are much more colorful than the current ones, but it does take a couple days to get used to the new icons.

Domain Icons:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Tex...tail&id=97

Same as the Spell icons, much color, and cool new pics. But these also implement some color to special skills like "Lay-on-hands" etc.

Emotes:
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Oth...83&id=1318

Pretty Green transparent Emote wheel! This one gives you some icons on the emote wheel, instead of just the words, and still has the words too in the same order.. just looks much cooler!

I love all of these.. and after getting used to them.. i dont wanna go back ;)

I tried to use those icons for a few days, but I didn't care much for them; some of their styles are a bit mismatched and distracting. So I ended up going back to these colored spell icons:

Color-coded spell icons work pretty well for sorting out your spells in your spell lists and quickslots (so you won't accidentally cast Doom when you meant to use a Poison attack), and they look nice too. :)
Corella d'Margo, arch-liar
Wyren Caul-of-Amber, alchemist
Tirah Het-Nanu, courtesan

I have to say I love that werewolf override (despite that singular middle-left tooth placed in the centre of its mouth, as one only notices that if they're 'really' looking...)
I always thought the NWN default left werewolves wanting... and that override is a lot better.

The werewolves in this override are great. The werecats however... they appear with their arm flung behind them... constantly. Just an FYI for those who may wish to play kitties instead of wolves. ;)
