"TEMPUS' BALLS!" he heard a legionaire exclaim and thought the pitiful two testicled human god of war's nether regions far too small a blasphemy for such a horror.

((Hehe that was Durn, Hilarious Vortar just hilarious XD

Will be posting Durns actions soon but hell it will pale in comparsion, the gift of words is beyond me.))

Reesa thought back about the battle, wondering if anyone would write a book about it...

After the Protector addressed the troops and gave some orders, Legionnaire Durn assigned the other troops to places. There were even two Red Wizards there, one named Kaiser who had some sort of warrior following him about, and one called Maurin.

The battle started at the Northwest wall, and the invaders were repelled. Then the battle spilled over to the West gate as well. Reesa and Sarin had helped fire down upon the undead at the west gate, while a Legionnaire named Durn and that wild Knight Vortar held the gate. It seemed there was nothing those two couldn't defeat easily.

Then a wave of demons came, some landing on the wall. Reesa unleased most of her magic, at least at those targets she could see. The darkness the demons used was only effective for a short time, and when the forces defending the west gate had recovered from the initial onslaught, the demons were defeated.

The Protector called for all but a token force to join in the defense of the Northwest wall, as the enemy forces focused their attack there. Whether it was pushing ladders over, or lauching magic, or even taking a whack at some undead who managed to climb up the ladders with her staff, Reesa did her best. She wasn't like those Captains who cut undead in two, or as powerful as the Red Wizards with their magics. But she did what she could, resorting to her staff and rod after most of her magics had been used. Legionnaires, like Duston and Gwen, fought on the wall, and someone she thought was called Sass used the ballista. Waves of flyers came, and the forces repelled them again, before another lull.

She took advantage of the brief respite to replenish some of her magic, and then scouted out the harbor. The Protector had warned to watch the harbor, and soon enough, while the northwest was attacked by bats, she saw waves surging, and sahuagin making their way to the docks. She ran, huffing and puffing, to the northwest wall and called for aid to come to the docks. She then ran back, wondering if any would come. Sarin came, but Reesa was surprised to see some of the stronger Legionnaires and even Red Wizards come to defend the docks and push the Sahuagin back into the sea.

Then the word came to return to the walls, and the forces there did the best they could to hold back the attackers, until the order of the charge was given by the Protector. It was an impressive sight, seeing those powerful warriors and wizards charging out and wiping out the dead, the scattered mercenaries and demons. One of the Legionnaires was clad in orange armor, a Captain she thought. A Tribune rode among them as well.

Afterward, the three zulkirs asked for all to gather in the city, where they paid their respects to the defenders. Well, at least as much as one would expect from one so powerful as a zulkir. The Red Wizard named Kaiser asked who was behind the attack, to which Zulkir Thrull responded that the question was not one to be discussed in public places. Reesa thought her glasses would melt when the Zulkir looked at her and Sarin. He was likely surprised they survived the fighting. Though survival might just be a temporary thing, considering where they next needed to travel. Reesa rather hoped it would not be temporary, since she'd not be able to read any books if that were the case. Though if the afterlife was a big library, then maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

He awoke with dread filling his head and heart, this could be the day, his last day. He had tried to accept this truth. The day he fell upon the battlefield, the day he was killed for treason, or worse, the day he opposed his Zulkir. Against so many odds, how could one not think this was to be his last?

The Necromancer was too arrogant though, he knew he would find a way to last the day. And if not, he would die with his head held high, he would die a Red Wizard. He would be an example this day, he would show them all how it was to be A Wizard, a Thayan.

Dressing, he heard a knock on his door. Taking up his staff, he let the shining red gem upon it show him to his door.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Ah... I am glad I found you

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Elvita? What a pleasant surprise. Do come in

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] It seems an army is approaching the city

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] So this is the day *nodding in thought*

Shit, I was right..

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] I just thought I should report to you... this is something definitely to be regarded as danger

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Thank you Elvita, I am pleased to have been in your thoughts at the news.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She nods*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] She we go see what we can learn?

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Sounds like a good idea

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Which way do they come?

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] From west I understand

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] I think the protector will inform the citizens in the north square

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] West? Hrm, I expected north....*trails off thinking*

The news confused him, he was sure this was just the undead army of the fallen Thayans that fell to the botched attack to the north. If it was not them, then who lead this attack? His heart darkened more, before he choose a side, he must know what banners flew.

[Shout] Runners throughout Bezantur spread the word: The Protector Ryech Voralt will be addressing his captains, legionnaires, and conscripted mercenaries in the square north of the Central Citadel within the hour

[Shout] Those near the gates to the city watch the legionnaires station there proceed with their order to close and bar them. The city is sealed off...

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She watches the city officials rush to prepare*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Has there been word from any scouts?

Durn Leonall: [Talk] I'm sure we will hear soon

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] The army approaches...half dead scouts reported demons and undead and mercenaries...

Reesa: [Talk] None that I have heard, your Omnipotence.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *nods to both speakers then looks up to Vortar* Any banners being flown?

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] *ominously* None.

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Hmm

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] That is actually, rather good, for me anyways

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Hmm issat so?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] I came here dreading to hear the banner of Tam was flown, Durn

Why not be honest? Let one of them challenge me.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] The scouts I have heard speak only of impending doom, master. Many seem in a bad shape upon returning to the city. No reports of any banners as far as I have heard.

Durn Leonall: [Talk] oh?

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] You know what I think...

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *nods to Elvita then looks to Vortar*

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] I think the protector will be disgusted with this sloppy formation.

Typical soldier, all assembled may die, and he worries of how they stand. He begins to ignore the soldier banter and glances around.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *looks Reesa over* I do not know you

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She studies Ressa carefully as Kaiser addresses her*

Reesa: [Talk] I am Reesa, your Omnipotence.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Reesa? I have heard your name being associated with this. Tell me what you know

Reesa: [Talk] As already has been stated, the armies are of mercenaries, undead and demons. Likely to wear down the city, so that there aren't as many losses to the main forces of those wanting to take the city.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] From where does this army come from?

Reesa: [Talk] They seem to be stragglers gathered throughout Thay, with the undead I imagine being sent by Necromancers, your Omnipotence.

Maurin has come, he decides to ignore him a moment. Best not make it look like he was waiting for the man.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Did I miss anything?

Duston Conners: [Talk] *bows to Maurin*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *glances at Kaiser*

Shit, don't look at me yet, Maurin!

Reesa: [Talk] *bows to Maurin* Your Omnipotence.

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Not yet dread lord

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She nods politely to Maurin*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] I see, could the undead be the fallen soldiers from the botched attack to the north?

There, theory is out there, convince them this is Thruls fault and not Tams.

Reesa: [Talk] Some could very well be, your Omnipotence.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] So they will be strong.

Good enough excuse for why they will all die, if I hear Tam is involved.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Ready for this, Kaiser? *grins*

Gods, stop grinning. Alright, maybe the grin can be taken for an eagerness to fight. Though who can notice anything, these fools have been jockeying for standing positions for the last twenty minutes.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] I think so Maurin, though I am a fool and prepared no undeath spells

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Most other spells will work anyway, not worth making your selection too specific.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *nods* Oh and Maurin, this is Elvita.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods*

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She bows graciously to Maurin*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Any reason for the line?

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Probably a legion thing.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Battle formation I assume

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *shrugs*

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] I believe it perhaps strengthens their sense of camaraderie... maybe good for morale

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Not the wisest formation

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] If the army has spell slingers, you present a clear target. A wedge shape might be better.

He is promptly ignored, the Protector had arrived. The Necromancer still wants to find out how he managed the multiple wives idea. But he stops musing and listens.

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *bows respectfully to the Reds*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods* Nice to see you again, Ryech.

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] and you, Master Maurin

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Protector *inclines his head*

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Attention! *salutes*

Oh shut up Steamy, we are talking here. Suck up..heh

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] we are honoured to have two such as yourselves assisting in the defence of the city

Duston Conners: [Talk] *comes to attention and salutes*

Gwendolyn Marshall: [Talk] [Snaps to attention, the metal of her heels clanking as she salutes]

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She studies Ryech*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] You honour us, Ryech

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] with your leave, I will address those assembled

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods to him* Let's not waste time.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *inclines his head and gestures to the others* As you will

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *his gaze turns to Reesa and Sarin*

Yup, definitely those are the two. Perhaps I can find them after, if they, we, all live. But who, or where, is this supposed Priest?

Reesa: [Talk] *pushes up her glasses, fidgeting a little*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *with prelude* as you know, a large force is approaching the city

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] from all indications, they mean to attack the city proper as they are manoeuvring toward the western wall and gate

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] i need soldiers or mercenaries trustworthy and skilled enough to man the artillery on our north-western wall

Durn Leonall: [Talk] *standing at attention* I recommend Duston and/or Gwendolyn Sir!

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] in addition, I need those with the ability to hurl fireballs -or other spells of such mature- protecting the western gate

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *nods curtly to Durn* you are in charge of the defences there then. choose who you feel is best

Sasspriina: [Talk] *raises a hand even if its helpless* I can help there....

Body like yours, Elf. I can give you somewhere to help...

Durn Leonall: [Talk] of course sir! salutes*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *turns and looks over and then turns back to the legionnaires*

Reesa: [Talk] I could also assist at the Western wall, Lord Protector.

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] do so then. both of you

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] I should also need at least one individual to man the northern gate - or more if you are squeamish, in case they try to flank and attack from the north

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Ser Vortar?

Elvita Fierce: [Whisper] Do they have any means to signal each other?

Kaiser Signe: [Whisper] Good question

He continued to focus on the conversation, when his guard Elvita suddenly steps up behind him.

Elvita Fierce: [Whisper] *She turns to the man rushing toward the wizard*

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] My Master has asked me to take the position most advantageous to the defence..

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] i will be taking up a command post at one of the towers along the north-western wall

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] I anticipate fighting will be heaviest along the north-western front

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *glances at Dante, then nods as Elvita stands in defence*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] the western gate is strong and should repel most attacks, but that is a weakness as well

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *glances at Dante*

Heh, now the man goes interrupting their precious formation. Comedic relief, good to have.

Durn Leonall: [Talk] *ahems at Dante*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] you omnipotent's, I would not presume to command you, so i would only ask you position yourselves where you feel you can provide the most assistance.

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *to the reds*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Our efforts would be best directed if we knew the composition of the attacking force. What is the most up to date information you can provide?

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] Vortar, Durn, i leave specifics to you after this briefing. position those here as you see fit when we are finished

Durn Leonall: [Talk] *salutes* yes sir!

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] *nods*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *inclines his head to Maurin's words* I agree with Master Maurin, as for where, I would think we would be best facing the main battle group, we will likely take down more en mass than those with swords.

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] many undead - zombies, ghouls, and so forth. unfortunately, the attack will take place at night, so we can also expect vampires spectre's, and the like *shakes his head, the grimness of his tone showing*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Hmm

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] a few living mercenaries, but not as many

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Can you confirm no banner is flown?

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] and several demons - including those with the capability of translating themselves through space or flying

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] correct, master. there is no banner

There it is then, without word from his Zulkir, he had best join them. To refuse would make him the coward, or raise too much suspicion. Not to mention, there may be a surprise for them all in the end...

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Thank you Ryech

Kaiser Signe: [Whisper] Then I have no reason to worry of taking a side, I am glad.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Any obvious leader?

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] none so far identified, i am afraid

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods*

Maurin Greyhand: [Whisper] shall we stick together?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] If there is no further information, I will make my way to the Sea Wolf to prepare my spells. Join me Master Maurin?, I have the suite.

Kaiser Signe: [Whisper] Absolutely

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] of course masters, the rest are details the legion can handle

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *bows his head* Fight well Ryech

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Shall I start assigning positions then sir?

They leave to prepare themselves, allowing the Soldiers to place their pawns upon the great chess board. And with no clear indication that Szass Tam is involved, Kaiser Signe, places the Black King with them. He just hopes that in doing so, he had not made the worst mistake of his life.
#15
The three of them head toward his suite, discussing spells as they walk. It was the age old discussions of Wizards, what spell is better, which will meet the demands of the battle. As they entered though, they two Wizards separated , leaving Kaiser and his guard Elvita alone.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Elvita, come here please

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *gestures to the chest* Anything in there you wish?

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] No, master. My new armour is sufficient

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *reads his spell book as she looks* Excellent

She is a fine soldier, I will do well to ensure I keep her in my service. Especially knowing that Ihsahn is around, the man hordes all the women in this damn city like a dragon does gems. And Alahna will like her, she is far from some teenage flirt. Though I do admit, she does have a solid form, maybe it's a pity she doesn't dance...

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Are we prepared?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] I believe so

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Let's go for a wander, then.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Try the west gate first?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Elvita, if we are forced to retreat, you come with us. Don't stay to die with soldiers.

As in, you protect my finely chiselled ass, instead of someone else's

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She nods* I understand

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] And aye, the west gate

The threesome leave the Sea Wolf, making their way to the east. They are promptly stopped in their tracks, as Vortar upon his flaming Nightmare comes upon them, assassin shackled to his saddle.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Hello, Vortar.

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] Masters...use the power of your robes to let me know if I am needed...I set stones for all quarters of the city.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Smart Vortar

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Seems they picked the wrong moment. *jerks a thumb at the assassin*

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She nods*

They continue on their way, the gate near in view when the shout rings out.

[Shout] Elements of the enemy force begin to come into view of the northwest wall - zombies!

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Let's get up on the wall.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *nods*

The two Wizards prepare themselves. The weave crackling around them as the two call upon spell upon spell.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She stands in awe of the spells*

What greeted the two master wizards and their sworn guard, was a sight to behold. The entire North-western front was already filled with carnage. Wave upon waves of Zombies stormed the walls, each oddly enough, carrying ladders. Kaiser almost laughed at the sight, and admittedly felt oddly creepy about it. Whoever was leading this, had not just brainless undead, but trained servants of death.

Ladders were raised, to be pushed back down by the protectors. Catapults were fired, ballista's were fired, and Kaiser even gave some of his own spells to the fray. Eventually the wall was secured, and the defenders were given a moment to catch their breath.

[Shout] The initial elements on the north-western wall are eliminated

Kaiser surveyed those upon the walls, even trying to figure the weapons themselves. Each time he moved, he was pleased to see Elvita was with him. She was connected to his hip, and truth be told, he was quite proud of that. And it may have boosted his ever growing ego, just a little...

[Shout] The main force comes into view, the majority of the army heading toward the north-western wall, with smaller flanking elements moving toward the west gate

Vortar left to man the gate, the others, Dante, Duston, the curvy elf Sasspriina, and Maurin remained. Kaiser rained down more spells, then stopped as Maurin declared the undead filth. Let the others take them down, more dreaded attackers were sure to come.

Ghasts and Zombies soon were too many, many finding their way to the top of the wall. Melee was needed to cut them down, though many were wounded in the attack. As those upon the wall began to bandage themselves, another call was sent out.

[Shout] Undead begin attacking the western gate!

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] Yer bes' not fail ta hold dis wall soldier!

.....wha?

[Shout] The defence of the western gate hold strong

[Shout] More powerful undead, in addition to some of the demons of the army move toward the western gate

Elvita and he made their way toward the gate, at reaching the stairs they looked down at what was happening below.

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] Knight...yer ta call it. We'll be righ' behind ye.

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] I shall stand in their way...kill those that get by.

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] Tough shi'...yer sharin'.

The undead, swarmed. Wave upon wave came at the defenders. At one point Kaiser had at least a dozen trying to claw their way up to tear at his flesh. His spells rained down, but every six he killed, they were replaced three fold. Eventually the soldiers got to him to lay waste to the undead that were piling under him.

He was about to start to chastise them, when suddenly strange beings flew over the walls. Upon cresting the battlements, they would drop demons around the defenders. The sudden attack was almost overwhelming, the defenders barely surviving the onslaught.

[Shout] With the help of the Red Wizards, the western gate stands firm against demons never before encountered!

Kasier was blinded by one attack, so it was still blinded that the call was quickly followed by another.

[Shout] The main body of the huge force begins it attack against the north-western wall in earnest

[Shout] Messengers from Ryech call all to the defence on the north-western wall, with only a token force to remain at the western gate!

He could finally see again, so he and Elvita joined the others. Diego Fat Tongue, still barked his garbled orders. Duston, Natasha, Reesa, Sarin, and the ever curvy Sass, continued to repel wave upon wave.

Why am I looking at her body when I should be concentrating? The woman is almost a liability up here. I do like how her loincloth moves as she bends over the battlements though....I bet I could take her right here and nobody would even notice. No, no, no, Alahna, think Alahna.....no wonder people join the legion, this fighting is making me as randy as a sharressian...

The undead continued to come, a never ending wave it seemed. His spells were all but exhausted, Elvita was covered in gore...almost hot to look at, in a creepy way....meh, I'm a Necromancer, that's supposed to be expected...he debated using a stone to go to his tower. Find his Alahna and ...then something caught his attention.

Reesa: [Talk] Any word from the harbour?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] I am without spells Elvita. I will go, I am useless here

And have a bitterly cold shower...

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Party] Sauhaguin were in the attack on the western gate....check the harbour

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Kaiser, where you headed?

[Shout] A mass of flying creatures can be seen winging toward the city wall

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] The harbour I am spell less

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods*

[Shout] Ryech sends commands: We need forces down below the wall in case they simply fly over it! Station the less experienced there.

[Shout] The creatures are darkenbeasts - some large and quite powerful...

They ignore the shouts, concentrating on getting to the harbour.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Seems quiet

Durn Leonall: [Talk] indeed friend

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Yes, so far the gates seem to be holding

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] The harbor is clear, shall we replenish spells?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Yes, indeed. My suite?

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] sounds good.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Up to you, master

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *nods* Lets go

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Durn, tell them the harbour is clear

And with that, the three return to the safety and quiet of the Sea Wolf. Each returning to their rooms to prepare for another attack. Elvita, wisely did not follow Kaiser into his room. The bath was damn cold, but at least he was able to concentrate again..
#16
They left the Inn, yet again. Thinking how many times they had used the suite, Kaiser was struck with just how long this siege had lasted. He shrugged this revelation off and before they were twenty steps away, Kaiser turns to Elvita and begins to cast upon her. He wants her both able to protect him, and addicted to the magic that he infuses her with. He wants to come out of this both alive, and with a future employee.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She gasps as she feels the magic strengthen and protect her*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] You doing excellent work Elvita

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Now Maurin, shall we show them true power?

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Thank you master

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *chuckles* This should be fun.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *chuckles*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Time to get the real spells going.

[Shout] Undead bats begin raining down on the defenders at the northwest wall!

A pack of at least six Fanatic Paladins hide around the corner, no doubt expecting to pounce on the three as they make their way to the walls.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Ideas?

Kaiser summons a skeleton to rush the Paladins, then carries on saying over his shoulder.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] decoy

They can hear the curses of the Paladins, and the sounds of steel on steel as they pass. But it did serve to ensure they made it to the wall.

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Party] Hah! we must have depleted their forces....if they attack with BATS!

They all find themselves chuckling at the comment, and Kaiser still was as he crawls over the bodies to find......Maurin flat on his back. What the hell did...that.. His eyes widen as he sees the Ragewinds, their bodies expanding itself outward to fill the area with whirling weapons.

The entire wall was filed with these small tornados, weapons and debris flying everywhere. The defenders were being hacked to pieces, Kaiser himself taking numerous wounds. Elvita however would have none of it, for she had bandages on him before he even knew what was happening.

Gwendolyn was bandaging Durn, Diego helping Elvita bandage Kaiser and also Maurin. The killer winds continued on, none were immune to the almost hypersonic projectiles. Vortar was fixing Brogan, many of the others focused themselves on the two Wizards. Soon everyone was standing around in a daze, unable to fully grasp just how close that attack was.

Alahna and my tower, are really starting to look like the better option here...

[Shout] The last wave of powerful undead is destroyed, although barely...

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] what the hell was that?

Duston Conners: [Talk] Ye alright, Master?

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] I'll live.

[Shout] Even the Dread Lord Maurin was at death's door...

....heh..

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] *Stabs the heavy blade into the Beholder momentarily, wiping blood from his own armour before pulling the blade free again*

Looking over the battlements to the street below, he sees the woman, Ressa, looking back up at him.

Reesa: [Talk] I will go view the harbour. It is odd nothing has come from there yet.

[Shout] The enemy force, while reduced, still can be seen to the west

[cjshark] Kaiser Signe: [Talk] It was clear

After announcing what he found, the woman ran off anyways.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] ....

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Why do I even speak?

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] Stay in sigh' of 'un 'nother.

[Shout] As dawn approaches, a sense of relief and *belief* the city defenders will repulse the army can be felt...

[Shout] The army masses another wave however...maybe its last...

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She breathes heavily as she studies the carnage*

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] *Glances over to Vortar* Readeh?!

Brognar Barrelchest: [Party] 'OId strong mates.. we gonna cut em down ta de' last one.

Sasspriina: [Talk] *gets on the ballista just in case and looks outward*

....don't look Kaiser, don't, look..

Duston Conners: [Talk] *catches his breath whilst he can*

Gwendolyn Marshall: [Talk] 'Ere they come!

He paces back and forth, looking over the wall for the return of the woman Ressa. Something was bugging him, strong enough he was even able to ignore the elf for awhile. Which now wasn't that hard in truth, seems she was in armour of some sort. Was he imagining the loin cloth? He was not sure, perhaps he...

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Looking for anything in particular, master?

He is unsure how to even answer this, be mused a reply when...

Brognar Barrelchest: [Party] For de Priador!!

Gwendolyn Marshall: [Talk] They be 'avin ladders!

Does everyone find it hard to enunciate?

The undead came on, and on, and on. The battle seemed to go on forever, he began to forget about the docks when a voice sounded behind him, a womans voice down on the street below.

Reesa: [Talk] We need reinforcement at the docks!

I knew it! Hell..

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] *To Vortar* Ye go 'andle that!?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] I'll go!

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] I'll hold here.

Reesa : [Party] *runs back to the docks after running to the northwest wall and shouting for aid against the sahuagin invaders, not waiting to see if anyone followed*

It was a shame she did not wait, she may have seen the hilarity of watching two thugs try and rob Two Red Wizards, a half Orc Thayan Knight, and former gladiator Elvita.

Kaiser was not sure what part of their anatomy caused the wetness in their leggings, but sufficed to say, none of them shackled the two fools. They left what little there was left of the corpses, and carried onto the docks.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Where?

Reesa : [Party] *leads those who arrived to where she saw the fish people*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Here?

[Shout] Screams and shouts of alarm come from the south! Sahugin pour from the sea in addition to the frontal assault

Reesa: [Talk] *points out the waves and sahuagin surging from them*

He followed her look, then almost bust a gut laughing as Vortar became the target of a missed spell.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Sorry, Vortar.

The Lizards came, the numbers were astounding. It was as if each wave that fell upon the docks, spilled more of the damned creatures free. The sheer amount of the creatures made it impossible to fight as one. They had to spread out, each taking on a part of the docks.

Steel cut into scales, spells burst like fireworks in the night sky. Again and again, they fought off the sea lizards, until finally the waves brought nothing but blood and corpses against the pilings of the docks.

[Shout] The very real Sahuagin threat is put down!

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] How the hell did the army get them involved?

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] They worship demons...

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She looks around* Any of them alive?

[Shout] Ryech sends a message to the defenders on the northwest and south: adventurers of ten or more seasons of experience to the north gate! all others, to the northwest wall. We are going to end this!

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Feh ...

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Not sure, let's go via your suite, Kaiser.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Alright

[Shout] As the sun brightens the morning sky, the enemy force seems to hesitate...almost as if it is not sure what to do...

Kaiser and Elvita come to the northern gate, the soldiers are already gathered awaiting their orders. Armour once shined, swords once sharp enough to shave with, are now replaced with gore covered men, and pitted steel. These men and women had seen a war this day, yet this was the time of the greatest challenge.

He had to give it to them though, they were ready for more.

Brognar Barrelchest: [Talk] Fer de Priador!

Duston Conners: [Talk] Aye *bangs sword on sheild*

Enough of that, it was giving him a headache. So he and Elvita moved off to be by themselves as they waited. He began to cast upon her again, once again turning her from a former gladiator, to a force. Magic is such a wonderful thing.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Thank you, your spells have saved me many times today

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Let us hope that continues

[Shout] Having spoken to the defenders on the northwest wall -those with less than 10 seasons- Ryech heads off to the north gate to meet with those of 10 or more seasons

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] IT is your safety that truly matters

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] everyone here has seen ten seasons or more?

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Do you need me here, master?

Hell yes I do

Durn Leonall: [Talk] *salutes*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] if not, get to the northwest wall. You will not survive otherwise

Duston Conners: [Talk] Aye. *salutes*

He did not want to let her leave his side, and he considered telling the Protector to save his commands for the soldiers. But the fact did remain, what if she did fall? He had no way to watch out for her, and he knew that he would, she had served him loyally. He would be distracted in ensuring she survived the battle. Still, he hated to let her go.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Go Elvita, you will do more there

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] we make a counterattack - and end this. now.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Okay

He watched her go, and oddly enough, he began to miss her. This victory, and he was determined to ensure this was a victory, would not taste as sweet without her beside him. Alahna was right, he is a softy...

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] ah! cain *gruffly* well met

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] You count your skulls I'll count mine and we shall see who owes who money!

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] *chuckles*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] it's about time you show up. We're going to take these bastards down

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] In time for the party, right?

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] indeed when the next attack comes, which should be soon, I want this force laying in wait along the north wall. When I give the command, you are going to drive into the flank of the attacking force and crush them between the defenders on the wall and yourselves

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *angrily* I want this last wave decimated

And so they went, the force of soldierly elite backboned by the pair of Red Wizards. They sat outside the walls, waiting. The others fought from the walls, keeping the undead focused on them, unfocused on the group ready to slaughter them all.

[Shout] More powerful mercenaries join the attack!

[Shout] But still no command from the Protector...

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *glances over*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] It's been an honour gentlemen

Durn Leonall: [Talk] of course friend

[Shout] As Demons join the attack, the command comes to the flanking force: ATTACK!!!!

The group swarm from the northern walls, there was no hesitation, everyone of them ploughing into the army. Steel flashed, spells cracked overheard, undead were split in two, or blasted to a smear upon the cobblestones.

The fighting was vicious, many times the elite force was toe to toe with the undead. In the end there was an eerie calm. Was it the end? Or was it just the beginning?

[Shout] Huge Shambling Undead lumber forth!

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] Wow

Wow was right, massive creatures walked from the fog of war and advanced upon them. Beings comprised entirely of corpses, until they stood taller than the trees, stormed the fighters. They were, in a word, awesome!

But enough gawking, he was here to fight, not take notes. Blades and spells pounded against the creatures, until after what seemed like ages, they fell to massive piles upon the ground.

[Shout] Finally the leaders come forth themselves - undead Deathbringers!

He watched for an opening, he saved spells for just such opposition. Something worthy of his greatest magic, and here they were. The soldiers swarmed over them likes flies on discarded garbage, but there! An opening showed itself, and the Necromancer let loose all he had left.

The Deathbringer exploded when hammered by the multiple empowered orbs of pure magic. Satisfied, he looked for more. Gazing upon the field, he saw the few remaining undead hacked to pieces by the blades of the elite guardsmen. Then soon, the call was heard by all.

[Shout] With the Deathbringers, Death Knights, and Corpse Gathers destroyed, the remainder of the enemy army falls back in a rout!!!

[Shout] The Defenders of Bezantur have done it - the city stands saved!!!

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] Go after them Vortar?

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] We could....

Durn Leonall: [Talk] *chuckles*

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] But then who would spread the word....DO NOT FUCK WITH THE PRIADOR!

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] *laughs*

Durn Leonall: [Talk] YEAH!!!

Diego San'draxus: [Talk] *Nods, his eyes glinting*

They fought well, and bravely. He would give them their celebration. Turning he walked back to the wall.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *looks up* Any losses?

Brognar Barrelchest: [Talk] *salutes*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Elvita? You there?

Did you survive...?

Brognar Barrelchest: [Talk] No we be good Master.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Well done then, all of you. You have served Thay this day

[Shout] Ryech sends an invitation to all defenders to meet him, and the grateful Zulkir Aznar Thrul in the square north of the Central Citadel to receive his personal thanks

Dante Reynolt: [Talk] *nods*

Brognar Barrelchest: [Talk] Ey.. da RED says well done all ye!

He smiles at that, appeased with the proud tone of the Dwarf upon the wall. He was going to remove his helm, show his smile to them, a smile born of pride for the valiant fighters. But as he reached for the helm, a Red form approached him.....Maurin.

He was not ready to do this yet, he wanted to enjoy the enthusiasm of those upon the walls. So he greeted the Master Wizard with a smile.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] That was fun, eh Maurin?

Maurin Greyhand: [Whisper] Kaiser is now the time?

.....shit, here it comes.

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] Aye, it was.

Kaiser Signe: [Whisper] Perhaps so. If it is sure, don't die on a failed attempt

Maurin Greyhand: [Whisper] Hmmm, I have not yet spoken with Vortar or Cain.

And that was all that was spoken, the two turned and headed for the square. And whatever may come when they got there.

*Written on a fine piece of parchment and in elegant letters*

To the leaders of Byzantur,

This is the account of Dante Reynolt in his part of the battle for Byzantur.

With labored breaths, Dante ran through the streets dodging back and forth through the crowd of peasants hoping he was not too late to join the rest of the adventurers assembled to fight off the invading army. As Dante finally broke through the crowds his eyes widened in astonishment at the assembled warriors that had gathered together. Dante felt insignificant next to the Priador soldiers in their full-plate, and the Red Wizards literally aglow from the magic radiating off them. Not knowing where to stand in the mix, Dante maneuvered his way next to his only acquaintance there, Duston, a soldier in the Legion.

Upon seeing Dante, Duston whispered, "Playing legionnaire, are we?"

Dante put on an incredulous look, and replied, "of course not! I just do not know where the fighters without allegiances should stand."

Duston laughed and said, "Anywhere will do, really."

Dante began to question why Duston mentioned anything, but stopped short when the Protector and Captain Durn began shouting out orders to the men. After most were given their orders, only Dante, a mage, and a legionaire woman remained. Durn walked up and told the woman to take Dante and the mage to the North gate, and to kill anything that came through. In eagerness, Dante unslung his shortbow from his shoulder, and notched an arrow as he made his way to the gate with the others.

The legionaire woman asked, "Are you using your bow?"

Dante smirked at the obvious question and replied, "At fist, yes. I planned on drawing my blades after they get closer."

The woman nodded at the rouge's reasoning. As the sounds of an approaching army began to resound throughout the city, Dante and his companions tensed in anticipation.

"Who would dare attack the city anyway?" the mage asked confidently.

Smiling grimly Dante replied, "A lot of dead fools."

Suddenly, Captain Durn road up and looked to Dante and barked," Dante, you are to accompany me to the wall!"

Excited, Dante blurted out," Yes, sir!" and followed the Captain to the stone wall that surrounded Byzantur. When Dante reached the site of the battle, he froze in horror at the sheer number of undead that were even now scaling the wall. After shaking his head to regain focus, Dante loosed a storm of arrows unto the walking corpses that were fighting his comrades. Even though his arrows did not do much to harm the stinking carcasses, it took some of the attention off of the men and women on the front lines.

Soon, the first wave of enemies were eradicated by the defending forces on the wall. After bandaging himself, Duston approaches Dante and motions to the nearby siege equipment.

"Arm that ballista!" Duston ordered. Dante looked first at the ballista and then at the legionnaire.

"Duston, I am not sure I know how to operate such a machine," Dante replied since he had been a mere thief all his life, this was as close he had ever been to a siege engine of any kind.

"Well, you had best figure it out soon!" Duston said gruffly. "Here comes the next wave!"

Not caring to argue, Dante ran over to the rack of ballista bolts, and grabbed one of the over-sized projectiles. Looking the machine over, Dante then leaned the projectile against the wall, and grabbed a hold of the crank used to cock the ballista. He then loaded the bolt, and took aim. He found a sizable force of mercenaries clustered together, and let loose. The bolt seemed to cut through the armored men like a hot knife through butter, and seemed to explode as it hit the ground behind them. Dante repeated this process two more times before he caught the attention of an enemy wizard on horseback. Noticing he had caught the wizard's eye, Dante quickly loaded the crossbow, but before he could target the wizard he was hit by a ray that froze his skin to the point it blistered from the intense cold.

The spell sent him flying into the nearby wall of a guard tower, and almost rendered him unconscious. He sat there for what seemed like an eternity trying to regain control of his body. He then looked up as a corpse shambled over to him, and as it bent down and bared its teeth, Dante was sure he was finished. Until a flash of bright light almost blinded him as a red robed figure split the zombie in half with a single swing. The man then looked over to Dante and glared through his helmet, and grabbed the dazed robe by the arm. Lifting Dante up effortlessly, the man snarled, "Keep fighting or die by my hand!"

Dante returned the Red Wizards glare with a look of sheer determination and nodded his head. He then ran back to the ballista to see that a siege ladder had been place by the wall, and another zombie was shambling up it. Dante drew his sword and lopped off the walking corpse's head as he kicked the ladder off the wall. Dante then turned back to the ballista, but was stopped short by the sight of Dread Lord Maurin sending a lightning bolt right above his head. Surprised, Dante looked behind him to see that the Maurin had hit the wizard who had wounded him earlier, and had sent him flying off his horse to lie very still.

The next several waves went very much the same with Dante operating the ballista while Duston led the defensive force protecting the wall. That is, until the Protector alerted the defenders of flying creatures about to attack the castle wall, and suggesting the least experienced should take to the ground behind the wall to fight off any who land. Dante aborted his position at the ballista, and jumped off the castle wall, doing a front-flip to break the momentum, landed perfectly, and drew his longsword and shortsword in preparation of the next battle.

Soon, the winged creatures began their assault, and Dante was faced to face with one of the huge creatures. Dante put his back to a wall, and faced down the creature. It leaped at him, and Dante immediately dropped to the ground, slashing his sword high as he rolled underneath the creature and stood back up. Though wounded the monster was still hungry for his flesh, and began to pounce again, but before it could attack one of the wizard on the wall sent a storm of missiles into the monsters face, obliterating it.

Saluting the wizard, but mildly irritated that he could not kill the monster on his own, Dante sped off to find another opponent. Unfortunately, all the other creatures were already slain. The sun was starting to rise as the Protector shouted for all the veterans of Thay to assemble by the North Gate for a counter attack to end the battle. Knowing he was too inexperienced for such a charge, Dante ran back to his post of operating the ballista. When the counter attack started, Dante shot bolt after bolt into the incoming zombies in an attempt to thin the enemy lines, but the real heroes were the ones cutting them down with sword and spell on the front lines. When all seemed to be won, a horrifying sight came to the batte field: Gargantuan sized undead that seemed to dwarf even the city walls! Dante loosed a bolt into one of their faces, striking it in the eye, but it did not seem to care. Despite the monsters' size the veterans on the front lines quickly dispatched them. Dante looked on in awe at the courage and fighting prowess of those heroes.

After this the leaders of the enemy force entered the field. To Dante they looked like evil men shrouded in black and carrying scythes, but he knew that when the Red Wizards took no time at all in releasing their most powerful spells, these men were not ordinary. So, Dante worked the ballista, firing bolt after bolt at the enemies, and soon they were all dead. Slain by the heroic protectors of Byzantur! As the celebrations ensued, the normally solemn Dante Reynolt, let out a cry of victory!

Recollection of Sasspriina's (Sassy) defence of Benz:

In the start, sass just seemed to be walking by the central citadel, tired from the long day of walking around and just about to store some small pouches of coins in the bank she spotted Vortar, being who and what he is, put her on edge as it tends to always do, let alone with his renoun reputation for eating elves.

Holding composure, though hesitant, she kept pressing forward to him, even when he was mounted to his Nightmare steed. He had been called to the meet for the defence and recomended she do as well. Obviously none would so short handedly ignore one such as Vortar.

Though she came, the persistant conflict of "what does my contribution mean anything to benz?" was always ringing off in her mind...

Being a elf and a attractive one at that had always molded her into a perinoid and rather cautious mentality of thinking in the city of Benz.

Reluctantly she figured "if i dont contribute anyways ill be in worse trouble than i can if i help", and moved to the group in the north district.

Upon arrival she noticed the legionares getting into formation as the Red wizards and more had'nt quite arrived just yet. She stood next to the pillar more so out of sight than anything and remained there silent and still with the ever large looming Vortar near. It wasnt until the Protector arrived and had all formed up that she finally took into the line and oddly enough right next to Vortar on his Nightmare, granted a few steps away, but none the less stayed silent and attentive.

As the protector shouted out orders and requests, one was of his need for those that can hurl fire balls and the like.

With a hesitant glance to the side more to Vortar than anything, she raised her hand and spoke up stating she was capible of such things.

The protector glanced over and then assigned her to the northwest wall with Duston and a few others.

Listening to the rest of the orders barked out she move with her assigned group to the wall. Being a bit early in the arrival of undead and the like Duston and Sasspriina loaded up the Balista's and Catapolts with amunition and testing range even with test shots.

Being a Sorcoress she wasnt familiar with seige materials but learned fast and got the hang of it.

When the battle itself commenced she focused on grouping those she could together and casting down a ice stormed barrage upon their heads or launching fire balls at their feat. Even zapping them with lightning bolts, some blowing up into rotted gore, and others just passing through to the other in line behind them. After long fighting and many spells extinguished she became strained from the energy used to cast so many of the same powerful spells and as break neared inbetween waves of enemies, she looted off what supplies she could from the fallen and stacked on Full-plate armor, sheild and flail, and became that of using melee combat with any that got up onto the wall.

Though she wasnt trained near at all, she did what she could and did rather well infact even with the help of Barrel, the dwarf, after more legonaires and the like arrived the full force came to the walls, many ladder bearing zombies put such to the walls as they scaled up, sass did what she could to push as many down as she could, until the attack of the flying demons to the walls, rendering the forces defence back and allowed floods of zombies to storm the walls, blood mixed with undead gore and more filled the air in a thick noxious aroma as she looked around a moment in some horror at the flying demons on the wall. Shaking it off she joined in where she could and helped surpess the advance.

As it was seeming near at a end, the walls were attacked by beholders and slew many, only being slew by Vortar and Diego most, as Red wizards were likly out of spells our else where at the time fighting more farther down the walls lines.

After being slew the protector called for the most seasoned of warriors to come with him and the rest to remain at the walls defence. We all knew it wasnt quite over even looking at the thousands of undead corpses scattered all over the ground, the approaching final force was in sight along with large monsterous beings with them.

When the battle commenced in the light break given, the walls shot off balista's, sass maning a scattering balista, along with more shooting arrows and fighting any that scaled the walls fromt he already fallen corpses, the protectors forces charged out from the right side of the gates, likly from the northern gate and penatrated the forces weakening them and slaying the most horrific and dangerious of demons, undead and monsterous beings.

As it was at a end.... Sass looted what she was able and not already picked clean and all were to report to the norths courtyard where they had been given defencive orders. The leaders of the city and thay came to see and thank all involved in defence of the city.

Though Sass came to the meet as she was required, she couldnt help but feel that even with the contribution her efforts were for near nothing, always looking back at the fact shes just a mere elf in the city and always will be, just staying silent and rather unmoving during the thanks of the leaders she wasnt at all hesitant to just wander off after thanks from the powerful wizards and went to her temple of Sharess for some meditation and rest of her exhaustion of her sorcery and fighting, comming back to see Vortar handing out coins for drinks as she assumed.

As he handed her the share of coins, Vortar himself told her he may've had her as a celebrative snack, putting her on edge further more, seeming rather tempted to run with magical means, he didnt make further attempt to such a claim and turned to his own business, and without hesitation sass went on her way quickly and onward with what life she contains in Thay, where ever it takes her.

They pass through the North Gate, splitting off once passed. Kaiser continuing to the square, Maurin must have gone to his tower to prepare. Kaiser began to dread what was to come, but if it came, it came.

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] omnipotence *bows*

Durn Leonall: [Talk] ah there you are friend err master *bows*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *inclines his head* Protector Ryech

Gwendolyn Marshall: [Talk] [Nods to Kaiser] Omnipotence.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Master, it is good to see you safe *She bows*

She lived, thank Kossuth..

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] And you Elvita, Durn

Duston Conners: [Talk] *bows*

Sasspriina: [Talk] *looks at Kaiser and hovers some magical energy over him but doesn't touch him

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Why thank you Sass

I should have told her I think I pulled my Groin..

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *despite his gruff nature, the tenor of his voice gives away how pleased he is* this defence was...acceptable

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] legionnaires, we certainly have training to do, but all-in-all, no major casualties was very...acceptable

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] *chuckles* I'm not sure I buy your count of 37... I know you can't count higher than this many *holds up both hands*

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] ha!

Cain Darkfist: [Talk] *laughs*

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] I have never seen so many undead

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Nor I, and I'm the necromancer here *chuckles*

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] i would especially like to thank our Red Wizard protectors here in the city as well *defers to Kaiser* their aid, in addition to that of Thrul, Nevron, Lauzoril, and their force attack as a surprise from the army's far side was instrumental in ending the attack

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *grunt*

For causing the attack, you should have said, Ryech

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] *their force attacking from the army's far side (rear)

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] enjoy this victory. never before has Bezantur come so close to danger under the rule of the Red Wizards

Ryech Voralt: [Talk] my lord Thrul wishes to address you personally...as do the other Zulkirs who aided in this defence. Vortar, shall we go escort them?

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] Aye protector

Durn Leonall: [Talk] Well shall we form up and look presentable Tribune?

Here we go again, gods.

He watches the soldiers form their semi circle, and he is reminded yet again how glad he was to not be a soldier. This had to be mind numbing work for them. He is quickly distracted however, when the sultry little elf began waving across the square.

Sasspriina: [Talk] Hi channa!

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She studies Channa as she approaches*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *can't help but admire Channa's legs*

Sasspriina: [Whisper] just got back from defending the city from undead forces.

Channa Goodman: [Whisper] Ooh. Uh. Sorry I didn't help.

Sasspriina: [Talk] *giggles at kaiser* their nice huh!

Channa Goodman: [Whisper] I just got back from resting...

Sasspriina: [Talk] *rubs a hand openly on Channas thigh*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *ahem*

They are nice, and watching you caress them makes me now know why you have never been seen with a man. What a waste

Channa Goodman: [Talk] *Glances back at Kaiser, giving the man a sweet and rather charming smile, before frowning as Sassy and slapping her hand* Hay! No touchy!

Sasspriina: [Talk] fine ill just oogle them for hours!

Isn't that my line?

He loses interest in the pair beside him, finding his focus on Maurin now speaking quietly with Cain. The skull helm hides his look, but his eyes bore across the square to see what they do. One nod from Cain, and all hell will break loose. Do I excuse myself? Do I help? Hells, what do I do?

He see's Cain shake his head, that must have been an answer. So when he see's Maurin approach..

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *looks to Maurin and shakes his head*

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *nods*

A hush fell over the crowd as the Protector and Vortar escorted the three Zulkirs to the Square. Even someone as proud as the Necromancer, felt his chest tighten at the power that walked toward him. To actually see a Zulkir is one thing, but three? Gods be good, that is power.

Kaiser Signe: [Whisper] All three? I did not expect all three

Yes I did, that's why I prepared my escape before hand, if needed.

Maurin Greyhand: [Whisper] He's scared.

Kaiser Signe: [Whisper] Aye, you're right

Suddenly, so am I...

Vortar "The Mad" Blood of Tharax: [Talk] ALL kneel before their omnipotence's!

And they did, all gathered fell to their knees. All but the two Wizards. Kaiser considered it, but he would not be so defenceless. He would be ready to fight, if Thrul wanted one.

Maurin Greyhand: [Whisper] Not today, then.

...yah think?

Maurin Greyhand: [Talk] *bows*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Master Zulkirs *as he bowed*

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] *surveys the proceedings*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *slings the staff and removes the helm*

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] Protector Voralt says you performed adequately

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] for that, you have our sincerest thanks

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] as a gesture of my...our *glances at the other two* appreciation, each of you will receive a reward deemed appropriate to your level of assistance

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] The Zulkirs are generous *bows his head*

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] but if you wish to remain anonymous, then so be it

Channa Goodman: [Whisper] I hope someone tells -me- about their experiences.

I'll show you more than tell you....

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] we will likely never meet again anyway *glances at the two Red Wizards in the crowd as he says it*

Pompous prick, if not for us you would have lost your city. Maybe I did make a mistake in helping. Screw this, I want answers, not veiled threats.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Masters, may I ask a question?

Lauzoril: [Talk] *with a priggish look he nods in agreement* Yes?

Have you ever rode in a caravan over a bumpy road with Melody?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Who dared lead such a folly agains us?

Nevron: [Talk] *scowls at Kaiser*

Blow me, you Conjuring bastard.

Nevron: [Talk] this is *not* the place for such a conversation

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *bows his head* Understood

You don't even know, do you? Idiot

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] suffice it to say, we have and will be taking steps to deal with those likely responsible *glances briefly in Sarin and Reesa's direction*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *eyes follow the look, and "hrms" under his breath*

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] again, you have our thanks. those who wish to claim a reward, submit you tales of valor and it will be evaluated

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] now get up, and enjoy your victory *hands Vortar a heavy, heavy purse of coin* drinks are on us. see Vortar

Yes, our victory, not yours. You tit

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *sneaks a look at Channas legs as she rises*

Aznar Thrul: [Talk] *whispers to the other two zulkirs and they all turn to leave*

What was that about? Telling them to run out of here before someone calls them out? Bye losers

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She looks to Kaiser before she stands up, and straightens herself*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] *offers a hand to help Elvita up*

Duston Conners: [Talk] *bows* Masters.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] You did well Duston

Duston Conners: [Talk] *removes helm* Thank you, Master.

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Had my tower been here, I would invite you all to enjoy it

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Who ever needs to rest, you may join me at my suite at the Sea Wolf

He takes his pitiful amount of gold from Vortar, and leaves the square. Elvita as always, at his side.

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] ... the smell of blood...

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Is thick, yes

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Analysis?

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] I never feel so alive, than having survived battle

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] How true

If you only knew, how, true. Heh

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Their strategy seemed straight forward... with a little surprised by the harbour. Hm... a test of our defence?

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] Perhaps, I just wish I knew who lead

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] No assassins hidden among us

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Maybe someone showing their teeth

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] You may have hit it right there

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] Too many questions, too few answers

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She takes a position by the door*

Kaiser Signe: [Talk] That was tiring, but go and rest, you deserve that

Elvita Fierce: [Talk] *She nods* Thank you master.

She heads to the spare room, and he is own. He is unsure what will come now, has the Black King moved to a position to sweep the board? Or had he moved himself into a corner, and in doing so, may find himself in check?

Time will tell, for now, he will be remembered as a hero.
