Racist, tyrannical, racial purists they are. The Red Wizards 'I' know are cunning bastards who despise all other species they see as inferior. Elf, Dwarf, hell even planetouched humans are looked at poorly. Hell Red Wizards disdain other humans who are not 'Mulan', much less infected types like our ever present were-creatures. They're inferior beings not suited to lick the dirt left in a Bloodcowl's tracks. Sure, each individual is up to their own personal brand of 'Racist jerk', but that's the norm.

Play a elf dwarf or other demihuman or some kind of 'Thing', expect a hard time in the land of red wizards. Your bait, ladies and gentlemen. Heck even those who associate with you might be labeled 'Inferior' beings, human or not.

Dwarf, elf, half-elf, halfling Red Wizards? 4th edition really took Faerun for a ride. Some like it, some hate it. I'm one of the latter. Frankly turning the Red Wizards into a world-wide merchant empire that anyone can join.... :::sniffle sniffle scream:::

And T, thanks for keeping the feeling of desperation, hopelessness and wickedness alive here at least. I liked Szass Tam up to the point they turned him into some omniscient being of insane power that could out-play and out fight the whole nation of other conniving bastards that the Red Wizards are. Anyone ever actually played the 2nd edition 'Dreams of the Red Wizards' or any part of the Spellbound box set? Szass canbe foiled in one of his riskiest and most well planned thoughts ever merely by an adventuring party busting in while he's binding Eltab to Thakorsil's Seat and make him fail. If that can happen, he's obviously not so 'Infallible'.
