The Tournament of Champions

By order of Tharchion Dimon -

Let it be known throughout the land that, one tenday from now in the proud city of Tyraturos, there shall be a long-awaited day of games in celebration of the glory of Thay! A day prior to the tournament, Caravans shall once again freely travel to the crossroads city and afterwards will be available for general use to it from that day forward. Come visit the city where anything -and anyone- can be bought, spend your coin, and test your mettle against nobles, knights, squires, and the less worthy.

The tournament shall begin with a competition of bows. The winner shall receive 2500 talons and an enchanted bow or crossbow, along with numerous enchanted bolts or arrows to supply it.

The next event shall be a competition of strength and melee prowess. If necessary, this shall be broken into two categories - one for the seasoned knights and adventurers among the participants and one for the squires and lesser adventurers. The winner of the knight’s category shall receive 5000 talons, while the winner of the squire’s category shall receive 2500 talons. Both shall also receive a powerfully enchanted weapon or suit of armor appropriate to their skills.

The final event of the tournament shall be the joust! As with the melee competition, if necessary, it shall be broken into two categories. The winner of the knight’s category shall receive 10000 talons and be crowned tournament champion, while the winner of the squire’s category shall receive 5000 talons. Both shall also be gifted with a Nightmare from the personal stables of Tharchion, a powerfully enchanted magical item, and a personal audience with the Tharchion Dimon himself and a special Red Wizard guest!

Red Wizards and their apprentices do not lower themselves to participate in these games simply meant for the nobility, commoners, and mere adventurers; however they often provide patronage to their own champions who ride in their name.

This 3-4 hour event coinciding with the availability of Tyraturos in the upcoming server update will be held starting at 2:00 PM Central Standard Time (GMT -6) on either April 14 or April 15. If you would like to try and make this event and have a preference as to which day it is held, send me a PM or post here before next Friday, April 13.

The date that has the most people indicating interest will be the date the tournament is held. On Friday, April 13, I will post the exact date here.

I would really like to make this, but things are kind of chaotic right now RL wise. If I look around and find the coast is clear around that time on those two days, I will definitely try to attend. Otherwise, either day works for me.

I will make this event I believe, if it is on saturday. Sunday would be harder but I would make it work for at least most of the time.

Vortar would like to represent the honor of Priador with his master's consent and would offer a sizeable prize in addition to the tournaments bounty to any who could best him in the melee.
100 Rocks and squats later he had learned Hellslaps lesson well.

Hey Vortar - it's been a tough call, but I did get a couple of PMs requesting this be held on Sunday, so we'll end up going with that date. Sorry you'll end up missing it, but since Tyratruos will be avilable to all very soon, we can certainly get another one going sometime later as well.

So for anyone interested in this one though, the date the first tournament will be held is Sunday, April 15 at 2:00 PM Central Standard Time (GMT -6).

Sadly, I do not think I can take part long - anyway, is that not GMT-5?

Yeah, it looks like you're right. When I checked a couple weeks ago after our time change in CST was -6, but I guess summer hours kicked in over there since then or something and now CST is GMT -5.
