Using Thay's Poisons
#11
The assassin is a rather useless class (atleast on other servers I've played due to rules or the availablity of wands of imp invis) but were HiPs disabled I'd have taken it just for the hell of it and hope for a few lucky paralyses, thanks! I shall aim for Shadowdancer >:D! The 6 second cooldown sounds like a good idea anyway because I have fought SD's and corner sneakers.. which is why I got into the habit of maxing out my detection skills on all my characters if possible and carrying TS items on me if I was able to use them.

Hellstrom might take issue with the "Assassins suck" idea. Apparently, Rogues-turned-Assassins (arguably the most common type of Assassin) aren't as good as Monks-turned-Assassins. Too bad the Monk-Assassins can't poison their awesome fists...right, Hellstrom? ;)

I guess it's kind of like how Rogues-turned-Blackguards aren't nearly as good in a fight as Fighters-turned-Blackguards. Rogues of any color aren't all that great in a fight. But as a support-and-utility Class, Rogues are hard to beat. ;)
Corella d'Margo, arch-liar
Wyren Caul-of-Amber, alchemist
Tirah Het-Nanu, courtesan

Maybe but hwoever it works on Thay, monk-rogue is arguably better than monk-assassin for diversity and dmg, only advantage would be the death attack and some innate spells.. but those are easily acquired through scrolls and wands (rogue UMD) and death attack only works well on low fort creatures and require high int to be effective. May as well just stun fist and pommel and get alot more skill points from taking rogue. Thay uses a non-auto 20 for UMD checks though so that may be where having innate spells would be handy

*looks around in confusion* Does anyone know what Wids' is talking about? The Assassin's Guild is just a myth!

I don't disagree. The assassin class does kinda suck. The good news here on Thay ( http://thaypw.org/showthread.php?tid=32&...rue+seeing ) is that TS has been modified so that it doesn't allow automatic spotting of sneaking characters, especially Monk/SDs who completely rock.
