Useful tips for events
#1

If an event is scheduled at 7pm CST, log in before and make sure you are near where you are supposed to be. Some of you simply cannot do this due to schedules, so try to set yourself up the night before.

If there is going to be dungeon crawling, make sure you have all the essential supplies. IE Food, water, ammunition, bandages, lucky sword and armor.

Check the date, if you live in California 7pm CST is not 7pm your time. Also, check the in game date. If it is a full moon and you are a lycan, attending a dinner party might be a bad idea.:P Or.. if you are a vampire, an afternoon beach party might not be for you.

Try to keep the OOC at a minimum, a tell works wonders in group settings and does not detract from the immersion.

Sometimes a DM doesnt have the ending "planned", he/she is waiting to see what the group does to decide where the event goes from a certain spot.

So emote, talk IC, figure things out. Standing in one spot shooting tells to each other about "Did the DM fall asleep?" is not the best option, ever.

Also...sometimes the dm is not with the pary but in another location setting up encounters, helping other players etc...so it is helpful while in an event to speak in the "party" channel. This allows the dm to easily see what is going on with the party and award xp accordingly for good roleplay.

Here is an useful tool for DMs planning events at a specific time (I still don't understand how you can stomach doing that, but good work nonetheles!)

http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/create

You can copy-paste the link you generate after filling one of these out, and everyone who clicks it will get the same countdown.
