Jay's past
#20
*The Burning House of Kossuth fills with confusion. Screams are heard outside as the Fire Drakes snap to life. Jay, along with five or six other drakes, run up the stairs and through the inner chambers of the Burning House. He puts the hand on the hilt of his sword as he gallops up the stairs, the fire drakes behind him had sword and shield drawn. They reach the top of the building, the flaming stone statues greeting them, as a congregation of other clergy, priests and drakes, stand together, looking over the edge of the building rails. Jay examines the congregation, his hand relaxing from his sword. The other drakes then sheathed their swords, standing in place. They didn't know what was happening. They moved forward, joining the group as they stand, overviewing a now seen chaos.. Fire elementals swarm around, at least one dozen of them. They are seen attacking legionnares and civilians. Legionnares engage the foes in combat, and civilians run for their lives. Slaves are seen, putting themselves in the way of the elementals and their masters. Jay's eyes widen at the sight, as do the rest of his groups. The congregation stands, some in surprise, some emotionless. Jay draws his sword, the heat from his sword making the air blur. He then makes for the stairwell..*
"Jay!" *he stops and turns around, as only three of the drakes were walking after him. they all turn, stopped in place. Lady Chanthi made her face visible, turning to face them.*
"Do NOT interfere.." *she states, her face showed no emotion. Jay looked absolutely in shock, as did the rest of the group.*
"You must be insane." *Jay simply states, he had a smile on his face, a fake one. They all could tell.*
"Do you want our reputation to be awful?! What is the meaning of this?!" *His smile had faded, and he looked furious.*
"This was not intentional.." *She gives a very normal stare to the priests. They just shrug, waiting for them to be put to a consequence of some sort.*
"But it is Kossuth's doing, so no one will interfere." *She adds onto her previously cut statement. Jay's shoulders slump but he then turns to the stairs and takes two steps down, still in view of the congregation. No one followed him now.*
"That's an ORDER Jay." *She calls out behind him, he then freezes again. He then sighs.*
"Again, this was not our doing." *She states, in a calmer manner. She was still tensed up through her neck and shoulders. Jay shakes his head, he still showed signs of frustration.*
"I will not have our temple blamed for this. But I fear it is too late.." *He states, and then he dashes back down the stairs. He had his sword and shield drawn. The rest of the congregation waited until they saw Jay out on the streets, slaying the elementals and picking up fallen people. The congregation started walking down the stairs to their posts, the top of the building flooded into the tiny staircase. They walked single file. They returned to their posts, the mixed expressions on every face of the house's inhabitants masquerade... Everything was silent, for a long time..*
