Tired of constantly having to ask other merchants how much different items were truly worth (and often finding later she had been lied to or misinformed) a certain Gnoll merchant had the first of these handy lenses commissioned for her own use. The ingenious mage who fulfilled that commission realized the potential of the idea and began mass-producing the lenses for sale to all who wished to afford such a luxury.
Special Properties:
When used on an item this lens returns the gold-piece value of the item within +/- 40%. The more naturally skilled the user is in making appraisals increases the accuracy of the result. (unlimited use/day).
