When you cure lycanthropy and become afflicted by a new, or even the old one, you have to redo the wisdom check.

As far as I'm aware, the lycanthropy depends on the animal, each one giving pre-defined stat bonuses based on the animal itself. Not all lycans are created equal >.>

If I remember correctly (feel free to delete this if it's considered revealing in-game secrets or whatever) Wererat gets a pretty massive regeneration rate/dex bonuses and such while wereboar, for instance, gets some nice constitution/strength and the like.

The bonuses match up relatively well to the type of animal, if it's any indicator.
