He was not a paladin but he did slay Bhaal and take over his portfolio. I think he was already a bit on the "mad" side. At least for power anyway.

This is only marginally related, but for some reason I'd got it stuck in my head that Cyric was a paladin who slew Bhaal and went mad with power upon taking his portfolio. Did anything like that ever happen? Or is that some strange product of my imagination?
