Um, no. One member of the player base has chosen to strut around naked inside one temple where it could be considered IC to do so in order to point out that it is already possible to strut around naked on the server. And in spite of that, we haven't seen PCs doing it and it hasn't hurt the server to have that option available. To further extend the point one could then argue that this change is not really much of a change at all.

This is not "being pushed through" by any means. This is a vote that is open to all of the player base. Just because you don't like the result of a vote doesn't mean you can characterize it as something being forced on the community or on you.
