Knew that, was saying the class is unnecessary, would be difficult to rebalance, and that slot could maybe(?) be put to better use for a different prestige class. Possibly even Red Wizard?

Aha, didn't get that. That totally makes sense to me, but even if Thayan is open to the idea I think it's still on us to come up with ideas for what that replacement class would be.
