I'm surprised at the number of players who are saying they go AFK for so long that they starve or die of thirst... that little green protective barrier isn't proof against everything. And if another PC accidentally bumps you, it can move you and remove the AFK status and leave you wide open to slavers or assassins. If you're going to be gone for that long, why not just log off completely and help reduce server lag for people who are actually playing?
I for one am usually not afk "that long" however if HTF is already moderately low and i have not noticed it then it very well could kill my pc in a tick or two. Also, player count is really not an issue for lag currently. If anything the higher number draws players where a lower number would not.
I would like to add that in my case, I resolved to simply turn off HTF in the end. To me that was a tough decision because i oocly feel food and drink adds to rp. However i can still rp that my pc eats and drinks and now not have to worry about watching that bar tick away. This may not be a problem for everyone but it was becoming a hassle in my case. I Want to thank everyone for the info on this topic and the help provided :)
