The 3 PC Limit is now in effect. To recap what this means -
For all players, the first three PCs you login to the PW with will be automatically marked as your three active PCs.
For existing players with more than 3 PCs in your vault, you do not need to delete any additional PCs. However if you try to login with any beyond the first three, the login process stops and you will be stuck in the black Welcome to Thay area.
DMs do have the ability to jump these excess existing PCs (but not a new PC that you are trying to create) out of the Welcome to Thay area if there is a good reason for doing so - like if you need to finish up an ongoing story for their retirement, or they are making a cameo appearance you and the DM have agreed upon, etc, etc.
Any player trying to create a new PC who would be number 4+ will also have that PC stuck in the Welcome to Thay area and will *not* be playable because the login process stops which will not set them up in the necessary databases and with the necessary Thay PW item in their inventory. DMs should never jump new uncompleted PCs out of the Welcome to Thay area for these reasons. In this case, a player must first delete one of their 3 marked active PCs, which will then allow them to then create/login with a newly created PC.
DMs also have the ability to allow players to create and/or login with a new PC if they already have 3 active PCs. This may occur in situations where the DM wishes to run a new campaign that they'd like to have the players involved using new PCs. Note that when this override is enabled, which is only temporary per server reset, it does not mark any new PCs created or logged in with as one of your active 3 PCs. As it is needed to allow players with 3 PCs already active to login with an additional PC, this will likely only be used by DMs before any specific campaign/event sessions they may be running.
