Apparently fence-sitter is also a euphemism for bi's... hadn't heard of the AC/DC one either but I did confirm it after you mentioned it here... although that one (and a couple worse than it that I won't mention here) implies that they simply can't or won't choose 'proper' sexualities... (a surprisingly common idea in both hetero and homo communities). On that note, I think fantasy has a good comparison with half elves, since they don't entirely 'fit in' perfectly smoothly with either sides of their racial identities.
