1 Eleasis 1366 DR - Arrival
My memories, if they can be believed, tell me I have been saved from being enslaved by a man, a wizard, in red robes. He directed me to find a beggar at the crossroads of Tyraturos, in Thay, where I seem to have awakened. I sought out this beggar as instructed, but he seemed a very shady fellow, so I steadfastly refused to begin working for him and his allies. I am sure this has earned me their ire. Almost imediately another would-be slaver attempted to take me inside the clothier's tent. He was no match, despite my being unarmed.
3 Eleasis 1366 DR - Initial Assessment
With no allies, and certainly now some enemies, I will need to find a way to survive here in Thay. I believe that perhaps my first goal should be to find a temple to my goddess, Selune. Perhaps there I will find allies, and a greater direction for my new life here. I shall also begin working to outfit myself for better protection from those who would do me ill.
While visiting the local temple of Waukeen for supplies, I was hired by Joriert Thet to recover a Figurine of Power 2 from the northern section of catacombs here in Tyraturos. Before proceeding to the catacombs I stopped at the Champions Inn and booked room 2 for my use for a week. With the purchase of supplies and the booking of the room, I have nearly exhausted all my funds, leaving me with a mere 145 gold Talons to my name.
To add to my problems, after combing the catacombs for the figurine, I was attacked by a pair of Gnolls who beat me into unconsciousness. I awoke far away from Tyraturos in the city of Surthay, bruised and sore all over. Who knows what the Gnolls did to me in my unconscious state? Amazingly they did leave me with all my belongings, so I will be thankful for that. However, I do not have the funds to pay for a ride back to Tyraturos on one of the wagon caravans, so I will have to scrounge around Surthay until I can afford the ride back.
6 Eleasis 1366 DR - Return to Tyraturos
After a brief forray into the sewers of Surthay I was able to sell the goods I aquired from their denizens and buy passage back to Tyraturos. Upon my arrival in Tyraturos it was raining, a gray and dreary day. I took the figurine to Joriert Thet and he rewarded me with 250 gold Talons, and a bit of information about the Slain Sahuagin in Bezantur. He then asked me to get him some Quality Bandages, and suggested I actually travel all the way to Bezantur and search the sewers there. I opted to simply buy the bandages he required from the local Priestess of Waukeen. They cost me 55 gold Talons. He paid me only 25 gold talons for them. Aparently he must really have wanted me to go to Bezantur and slog through those sewers. His next request was to find a Polished Topaz, which he said could be found in the Southwest section of Bezantur's sewers system. I resigned myself to the trek. It cost me 275 gold Talons to board another caravan going to Bezantur. I truly hoped that the reward I would receive from mister Thet would be worth my expenses and time.
27 Eleasis 1366 DR - Return from Bezantur
With some difficulties at first, I eventually emerged victorious from Bezantur's sewers, Polished Topaz in hand. Upon returning to mister Joriert Thet in the temple of Waukeen in Tyraturos he rewarded me with a mere 100 gold Talons. Still, I had profitted from the trip in other ways, so I was not overly disappointed. He also shared with me a little knowledge about Thay's lack of a middle class, and that most farming labor was performed by slaves, with merchants and tradesmen generally being considered just another form of laborer. In the spirit of trading information, he quizzed me on the proper ways to address Red Wizards. Though he did not have any additional work for me at the time, I feel that overall I left a great impression upon him with all I had done.
Later in the evening I met a fellow by name of Jerto Mirna upstairs in the Red Trident of Tyraturos. He hired me to recover two Alexandrites from the North section of catacombs there in Tyraturos. I was a bit worn down by all my other efforts fo the day, so I opted to start my search for the gems on the morrow.
