You'll have a week to deal with it, extra vault space, a convenient vault chest, plus your own inventory and those of any pack horses, pack slaves, or your friend's inventory. Plus if you have more than 325 pieces in your house you should be able to get some coin trimming it down. The only reason anyone will end up needing to repurchase furnishings is inactivity.
