Thay's New Overland Map
#1
The Overland Map of Thay has changed to one that, while not an "official" edition, is much more detailed and impressive than the 2nd and 3rd edition maps of Thay. This map can be viewed in the Thay PW Sourcebook. It was added not only because I think it is gorgeous, but also because this one actually includes *all* of Thay - which includes Escalant (our newest addition to the PW as of this post, as well!)

Moving to this map has resulted in numerous changes to overland travel, and distances between most locations have slightly increased. Please note the commonly traveled distances have been updated in the Map and Atlas of Thay descriptions, as well as in the Travel feature topic in the Thay PW sourcebook.

In addition, there have been a number of changes to static areas to make them fit in better on the map. This will require a bit of 'suspending your disbelief' from all existing players as there really is no IC reason for most of these changes other than trying to fit them better into this new map. But hopefully the changes aren't too outrageous that it's a matter of 'suspending your disbelief from the neck until dead.'

Of particular note:

-Moszabbar is further west of the Sunrise Mountains and has changed significantly to allow for travel to the south and east of the town. In-game DM-led events may provide some explanation for the major change to this town
-Lord Tavai's estate in Thazalhar has moved further east
-Kepetur is a league further south and is only accessible via overland travel from the north and west
-Nethjet and its cemetery has been rotated so its shore is on the west side of the area, rather than the north side
-Three estates in High Thay have moved a league or more from their equivalent location on the new map
-The Dry Hanging Valley in the Gorge of Guaros has been moved west a couple leagues due to source material stating the dragon there lairs "in the heart" of the gorge
-The northern sunrise mountain range area is reachable from the north now, as well as the west
