I felt that I should point something out.
Some characters act in ways that are not considered 'befitting the reputation/station' of important and/or evil bastards of Thay because of a simple reason.
This reason is that, despite what the evil character may think he is owed or how he should be treated, it can be very in character for such a character to do so.
This for a variety of reasons, of which some simple ones can be:
- they are new to Thay and have no idea (yet) that the law does not protect them;
- They have no clue who is dangerous as they don't know local reputations (yet);
- They are simply socially not skilled and/or just plain unwise or dumb, or are spoiling for a fight.
- And so on, and so on.
I understand that this may rub some people (who play the evil bastards) the wrong way but, as long as the player is willing to let their character face the consequences for it, I think such behavior is in no way wrong.
Afterall, if one says 'your character is not reacting the way I expect it to, thus it's not doing so the right way' you're basically saying 'you don't play the way I want or expect you to - even though you don't know why it's being done so'.
Just my two cents, and I hope no one takes it as an insult.
(You don't even have to agree with it *grins*)
And comments are welcome of course.
