A Night at the Rusty Anchor

Ode to a Bard

There once was a maiden fair with bright red auburn hair
a voice to make the men folk swoon as well as heart lifting tunes
When the people heard her sing, to another place she would bring
Some would forget their woes, some would just tap with their toes
And when the fair maiden stopped her song, the folk around looked forlorn
More ,more cried the folk ,causing the maiden a lump in her throat.
‘Thank ye kind people said she ,but anon I must flee
Mayhap I shall return some day, with more wonderous songs to play’
The greatful people smiled and agreed, and threw gold coins at her feet
She smiles and gathers the gold.
‘Thank ye all, you are to kind’
