I can see the benefits of either choice...
As for a reboot, that would be nice. Having not had the chance to play back in Salamander Wars or Time of Troubles, I think it would be sweet to get that option.
If we go non-lore, we can essentially take Thay into another "realm" of existence that is created be the PCs without all the major world changing events of 4E. It would be a chance to see what Thay could be like if 4E hadn't come along.
Now to address some of the comments already made. I'm not arguing for or against the reboot here, just trying to clarify a few things.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Bane around before the Time of Troubles? A reboot would still give people the option to play clerics of those deities who fell. Going non-lore is not the only way to get to play a BG of Bane. ;)

Quote:If the server goes non-lore. There is now a chance that Zulkirs may fall, tharchions become changed. Kaitopia would be a win win, Dryads and Nymphs for all his loyal subjects! Not to mention one of FR's greatest gods could return to power, who wouldnt want to be a Blackguard of Bane again?Yes, Zulkirs can fall, tharcions change and all that. You do have a point there, but...

Quote:This may be fine for lower level characters but my characters are higher level and have worked their asses off to achieve what they have concidering they are not common builds. Especially my character Azura, a pure Druid and a Lieutenant in the Legion possibly getting close to Captain. No offense, hun, but you are not the only one with high level PCs. I have several in fact...one of which is a drow. If we reboot, she will once again be hounded by slavers. And these slavers will be of a level to give her a challenge and she is 14th level. If we reboot she'll have at least one more.. probably 2 or 3 more levels to that. We would all have to go through the same thing. ALL of us. Aside from level differences, it would be a balanced slate as far as notoriety and such go. ie: No PCs higher ranking than you to give you orders.
