An entry with an actual date in Barry's Journal

"Uktar 30,
Bitter cold out here in Rasheman. I admire the strength of the natives here. If it weren't for my current circumstances, I would probably be fighting alongside them, rather than against them. But, I try my best to avoid combat, using the powers Tymora has granted me to heal up as many wounded as I can after the fighting.
Citadel Rashemar barely stood a chance against this massive Tuigan army.
The others are suspicious that I may betray the Tuigans and the interestests of Thay. I will not, but I truly hope the people of Rashemen are able to stave off this menace. The Tuigans are easily manipulated by the Zulkirs, and the more power Thay has over the rest of the realms, the worse things will be for all the free people of Faerun.
The Feast of the Moon was uneventful for myself. The food wasn't the best, and the bitter cold makes it hard to be comfortable. But, I'm still alive, so I should be thankful for that."

An Entry in Barry's Journal on the Campaign in Rashemen

"Damn! I do my best, I really do! The campaign is bloody, both sides are taking massive losses, but I doubt the berserkers will hold against the seemingly unstoppbable Tuigan hordes! I'm doing my best to learn their language, it seems to be helping me in trying to convert some of them to the faith of Tymora. It's not easy to turn the men from pillaging and murdering the innocents of Rashemen. It would have been wiser of me to sabotage the negotiations, to make them invade Thay, to put an end to these horrific Red Wizards and their power lust. But it appears not even the Wychlaran and Berserkers of Rashemen can hold this horde.

Daxos seems to be taking all the horror of this war hard. Perhaps he will change for the better, but I doubt it, the Red Wizards brainwash everyone, but not I.
If we lose this war, perhaps I could find myself among the Rashemen, fighting alongside them, but I doubt it, I must do all the good I can inside of Thay. I will have to use everything I earn from this venture, this terrible war, for good, for the temple of Tymora. Perhaps I can try and bring back some Tuigan converts, to aid in the growth and protection of the temple. That is if they would be willing.
Lady Luck smile upon me."

A Short Entry in Barry's Journal

"Back in Thay at last. The campaign in Rashemen is finally over.
Daxos has done well for himself, gifted the position of Thayan Knight!
I must say my own exploits appear to have gone rather unknown to many here in Thay. I have missed out on many happenings it appears. A war has supposedly broken out between Moanderites and Silvanites, and a new law has been passed by the Tharchions, denying any non humans the ability to advance past a certain point in the legion. Well, I have returned to spreading the word of Tymora, but I have to find some better way to acquire funding soon. Aerick offered twenty talons for every skeleton knuckle I bring him, although why he would need such a trivial item is unknown to me for now.

Lady Luck smile upon me."

A slightly charred entry in Barry's Journal

"Gah, just my luck! Struck by lighting on the way to Thazar keep... Perhaps Tymora wished me to stay in this land, although right now that would mean my doom...

Then I wake up in Eltabbar, my horse probably dead. This has been some of the worst luck I could possibly have.
Thankfully, I healed someone by the name of Lashul I believe, who was wandering the streets of Eltabbar, and he payed for a Caravan ride to Tyraturos. As soon as I arrive, I purchased a new mount, and then rode from Tyraturos to Pyarados to Thazar Keep.
Now I have finally left the borders of Thay once again, and it feels good to be free in the east once again. Though the ride will still be long and dangerous, I must be cautious.
Lady Luck smile upon me"

An Entry in Barry's Journal

"The lands of the east can be daunting, and they certainly are lonely. I have rode for days at a time without coming across a single person.

I have come across a few merchant caravans on occasion and camped down with them during the nights, swapping tales of distant lands. They provide food, water, and more comfortable shelter, and in return I provide small blessings and healing services. Occasionally we trade a few interesting trinkets, but I usually only spend a day or two with a group before parting ways and continuing onwards to my goal.

I have been riding in a general north easterly direction for now, perhaps stopping to get on the path of the Golden Way, perhaps having a small rest in the lands around the Lake of Mists and eventually to ride east. I then plan on exploring a place I have heard of as the Firepeaks, supposedly inhabited by a civilisation of Dwarves. After that, I shall make my way to the Horse Plains, and all my followers that I may have gathered and may gather there shall dwell for a time, until we make the long journey back."

"I have made it to the Lake of Mists. An amazing place indeed, it is usually covered in thick fog and mists, and the water is surprisingly warm. I am resting in Drubiev, a small town built near an old Dwarvern bridge over a river. I am headed for the largest settlement, Almorel, for a small rest. It is the largest settlement of the Raumvirans, who were said to have been the former rulers of a lost empire in these lands. I shall spend some time there before continuing on my journey.

"It seems as though I shall be staying in Almorel for longer than I had planned. It is an interesting place, interesting people. The Lake is a very wonderous sight to see, thick mists rising from it. Still, I would like to stay here a while before continuing on my journey."

"I believe it may be time to return to Thay. Although my trip has accomplished little so far, I do not believe I would be able to return any time soon if I continued on any further. I will begin the long ride back to Thay tomorrow. If I am lucky, perhaps people will have forgotten most about me, although I doubt little has changed in Thay since I left.

Lady luck smile upon me."

"Back in Thay again. It seems much has changed since I left. Apparently the Al'reens have fled Thay, "abandoned their posts," as described by Omnipotence Hazlok. Well, many seem to have thought I was dead, so hopefully I can keep my head down, and maybe finally open that gambling hall."

Lady luck smile upon me."
